I’m so excited to share this post with y’all today as its been in the works for a few weeks, and while we still have some touch ups to do, I couldn’t wait any longer. Ever since we moved into our house, our downstairs half bath has just been a little blah. We painted it a light mint color when we moved in and while it was fine, I never truly loved it. I thought about spending money on some expensive wallpaper, but it just didn’t make sense to spend hundreds on a half bath, when we might not be in this house much longer. A little back story on our house, Aaron and I bought it about 2 years ago after spending a small fortune in rent the first year we moved here. When we were house hunting, we stuck to a strict budget since we knew this was only a house we’d be in 3-4 years. I always pictured our first house to be a little bungalow style that was old and updated, and our current house could not be more different. Because of the crazy competitive housing market in Durham, we ended up buying a cookie cutter type house in an older neighborhood, and to be honest, I’ve never really loved it. I’m always looking for ways to add a little more character and make it “ours” until it’s time to sell. It’s a great first home, and more than we need, but it’s just lacking in some areas. Enter Walls Need Love. I was so excited to see that they offer wallpaper now and while it’s not only affordable, the best part is that it’s removable!
I had been eyeing a much more expensive, bold print and when I found this magnolia print from Walls Need Love, I knew this was the better alternative. It gives the room the character I’ve been searching for, without costing us thousands of dollars. Plus, we love that if buyers don’t like the print when we go to sell in 1-2 years, that we can simply remove it and it doesn’t ruin the wall or need repainting. AMAZING. They have so much fun prints, that anyone is sure to love something.
I didn’t take too many progress pics since we did the install in the evening, but we found some definite pros of cons of the product with most being pros. Pros: removable, so may options to choose from, no glue mess/simply stick and smooth. Cons: It is still time consuming, a little tricky to line paper up.
Honestly, we didn’t hang the paper as meticulously as we should have. Our lines are not 100% perfect and I still need to fix behind the mirror (I didn’t line up at all and while I was fine with it at the time, now it’s driving me crazy). But as I mentioned before, since we don’t plan to stay in this house forever, I’m okay with a little imperfection, just adds more character. ๐ In all, we probably spent about 4-5 hours in total measuring and hanging. It’s a small room- but I think we still thought we’d be done in an hour or two! Rookie mistake. I do recommend getting a squeegee type item to help flatten the paper out, it was really helpful- I literally bought a shower squeegee from Target. But everything else is included in the box (razor blade and paper)! Other than that, the results are wowing. Even Aaron loves it and we was extremely hesitant when he saw the print. He was like “you want to hang that?” But after, he even admitted I made a great choice and he really likes it. Even my girlfriends were in awe that is was vinyl. It looks like real wallpaper and is great quality. I’m in love- I honestly love the way it turned out and if you’ve been wanting to do something fun to a room, you should definitely check out Walls Need Love and their great prints! I might be addicted, I keep asking Aaron, what could we wallpaper next?
Thank you to Walls Need Love for sponsoring this post.

Looks so good! Would this work in a bathroom with a shower (and therefore lots of steam)?
Walls Need Love says
Hi Anne,
Yes! Our wallpaper and decals will do just fine in a bathroom with steam. You may just want to make sure you secure the top of the wallpaper, as moisture can sometimes get under them.
Hope that helps ๐
