My Fall Home Decor

I mentioned a few posts ago that while I love fall, I’ve never been a huge fall/Halloween decorator. In fact, besides setting the Thanksgiving table last year, I didn’t decorate except for putting some pumpkins and mums out on the front porch. So this year, I definitely wanted to put forth a little more fall home decor effort. I didn’t do much, but I did pick up some small pumpkins from the patch down the road, a new pillow and put together a fall table centerpiece, but I wanted to share our fall home decor tour with y’all today nonetheless.

As I was decorating this year, I started to think about Christmas and why I decorate for that way too much every year. I think it’s because of the music. There is no “fall” music to get us pumped about the changing season, so maybe if we had some, I’d be more inclined to pump it up. Although I will admit, having these beautiful FTD flowers and cookies in the house has been a nice treat to get us in the spirit (and to fulfill our sugar cravings).

 

This year I wiped this all over our pumpkins because I read on Pinterest it helps to preserve them. It did work for the small gourds and pumpkins thus far, but a few of the big pumpkins were too far gone by the time it came in the mail, so I sadly had to pitch them. I hate that, they didn’t even make it for our Trick-or-Treaters!

Speaking of which, are you dressing up or passing out candy? The first year we lived in our house we passed out candy it was so fun to see all the little cuties in their costumes. Last year we were out of town for Halloween, but I’m looking forward to seeing them again this year!
