SPRING LAYERS OUTFIT DETAILS
Shoes / Jeans / Scarf / Jacket / Striped Top / Bag / Hoops
The weather in Durham has been batty lately. It keeps going from cold to warm and then back again. I think in the last week, I’ve turned our heat off and on at least six times. As soon as I get used to winter sticking around, a warm day comes and people have shorts and flip flops on. Even the trees are confused, I’ve noticed pretty pink blooms starting to sprout from some of the trees in the neighborhood. Basically it’s bonkers which means I’ve been layering up so I can easily un-layer when needed. I got this coat for Christmas and while it’s warm, it’s also relatively thin which makes it not only great for layering, but perfect for those winter / spring days that are so confusing. Then I layer a thin tee under it so I can be ready for spring at a moment’s notice!
Aaron has been on research this week, so he’s been around more than usual. It’s so nice having him here a bit to help through the week, but it’s also a Catch 22 since I know he’ll be back to regular working hours next week which means my only form of conversation is with a newborn. Not that I’m complaining, I feel so fortunate to be home with Poppy at this time, but she doesn’t really have much to say. ๐ Luckily, he has a few more weeks of research in the next few months, so it will be a nice break to have him sporadically home during them.
And friends, just like that we’ve made it to hump day! Even though I’ve been at home recently, the weekends are still my favorite. Everyone is more relaxed, it’s completely appropriate to have champagne mid-day and well people are off work, duh! So cheers to only a few more days of work this week, but a lot more coffee!
