DIY Animal Jewelry Dish

September 17, 2014

When I got engaged, my best friend gave me a ring holder to protect my engagement ring (I tend to misplace things). I use it everyday/night while washing my face, showering, etc, but I also like the idea of scattering more throughout the house where I typically take rings off (i.e. nightstand, kitchen, etc). Over the past year, I have gathered some little dishes antiquing, traveling and DIY’ing- the most recent a cute little elephant to add to my office for the grand cost of about $3.50.  I typically don’t type with rings/bracelets on- they annoy me- so I take them off and this provides me a space in my office to store them while I’m working, blogging or online shopping (let’s be real).
1. Spray paint figurine. You can pick these little animals up from stores like Michael’s for about $1.00. They have so many choices- I kind of want a penguin too! He’s already cute gold!
 2. Once dry, use craft glue to secure to plate/dish. I got mine from Target for $1.50. My girlfriend made one as well and used a sharpie to gold dot her dish, also super cute (tutorial for gold dots here).
 3. Secure by pressing firmly. Allow dry time.
4. Enjoy your cute new little holder!

My girlfriend’s above is a little bigger so perfect for bracelets and delicate things! I love her dots!
Happy DIY’ing!

This is great, I have been searching around for ring holders/jewelry dishes and nothing has caught my eye or ben on budget. This tutorial is perfect though since elephants are my favorite animal and I have a ton of figurines. Thank you so much for this project idea!
