Have you ever been to an event or party where you get one of those little wine charms on your glass? Aren’t those things cute? I personally love them, until I forget what charm I actually had and start chugging someone’s Shiraz…when I actually was drinking Merlot.
“Did I have the corkscrew charm? No, no, I know I had the cheese cube charm. Or what is the bunch of grapes?!?! Oh ma’am, Im sorry, I truly thought I had the corkscrew on my wine glass…let me get you another glass of Shiraz.”
Ever happen to you?
Anyway, even if it hasn’t, I saw a project on Pinterest awhile back that involved wine glasses and chalk board paint. The soon-to-be Mr. was studying all day on a Saturday, so like any bored soon-to-be Mrs. at home, I got online to see what I could spend my money on for entertainment.
Once I found that Pin, it clicked and I headed to the local TjMaxx to pick up some inexpensive wine glasses (I actually already had the brushes and chalk board paint from a previous project). I was able to score some glasses for about a buck a piece (You could really check anywhere, I bought Libbey).
Below you can see how I began my little Saturday afternoon arts and crafts project…

#1. Start with a clean wine glass. Yep, that’s an ipad behind there. I needed some good jammin’ tunes to get me in the arts and crafts state of mind… |

#4. Paint bottom until covered. Dry and repeat with second coat. Place on paper or hard surface to dry. |

#5. Let dry, don’t touch! |

Grab some chalk and enjoy doodling on your glasses! Just make sure the person next to you isn’t doodling the same thing! |
This project was seriously so easy and didn’t take long at all to do. Even if you’re not a wine drinker, (or drinker at all) you could do this on regular drinking glasses.
My small little can of chalk board paint has already lasted me through three projects and it’s not even 1/2 way gone yet! There is something so fun about being able to transform regular items into small little canvases.
Have you tried chalk board paint? If so, have you experimented with any of the colored ones? Would you “ruin” a perfectly good glass with some chalk paint?
great job!!
