#4. Get some of this stuff, a box and some spray adhesive. Doesn’t matter the brand, unless you want your centerpieces smelling of lavendar. Also- ignore whatever goop is on my hands in the second picture, ew.
DIY Centerpieces
Hey all, while Im enjoying my bridal shower today (yay), I thought I would share a look into some of my DIY wedding centerpieces.
As a kid, I always liked arts and crafts and now, as an adult I like them even more. When fiance and I were deciding on a wedding venue, one of the things I wanted to make sure of was that we could bring our own centerpieces in. I knew from the beginning that I wanted our wedding to be a mixture of DIY and purchased items, so I decided I would make one of our three different types of centerpieces to help save some moolah.
#1. Start with some bottles, of any kind. If they happen to have a label, get it off. The first set of bottles some of my girlfriends and I did took us forever because we were trying to literally peel off the labels and glue, then someone grew a brain and realized soaking them would probably be a LOT easier. Once the bottles have soaked in warm water, I took a butter knife and just scraped the excess labeling off. Easy as pie and a heck of a lot easier than peeling .1mm off at a time.
#2. Take them outside. Again, my first batch of bottles were spray painted in my basement during the winter. Not only was there a giant cloud of white paint surrounding us, but we had to take turns going outside for fresh air. We even turned off the heat because we were worried we would blow the house up (still don’t know if we were high from the fumes, or being extremely reponsible with that choice). Anyway, second time around I used that thing inside my skull again and it was much better (and fresher).
#3. Go crazy with the spray paint. I obviosuly used white because our colors are black and white, but you could really use anything your heart desires. Make sure to get all angles and let paint dry before salting (ha).
#5. Spray the bottle with the adhesive and then slowly begin to sprinkle the epsom salt on covered areas Shake off excess salt.
#6. Let dry and Wa-LA! Stick some pretty stuff in them and easy peasy centerpieces!
Although we are using this as a wedding centerpiece on some of the tables, it would make great table decor or even mantle decor and could be done with tons of different bottle options, not just vino bottles. I plan on using 3-4 on each table and have some different types of stick things to put in them. I can’t show you the goods now though because I have to have something up my sleeve to keep you coming back sillies!
What do you think? Will you be a DIY bride (or were you one), or a “just give me the CC, I have no DIY in these bones?”

Love how they turned out! I so wanted to be a DIY bride, but with the distance between where we lived and where our wedding was we weren't able too!
Have a great day today!

Wow, awesome DIY. Would be perfect for winter deco too with snowy like theme. I saw a little ceramic vase that looked like some different vases attached together (but it was not). I think it would be idea combined with this DIY. Different shape of bottles look cool statement with the same colors and textures. Thanks!
