Friday’s Top Five..

…Fall Trends

Okay, so fall doesn’t officially start until September 22, but since everyone and their mom is posting about Fall, I thought I would too <<poser>>. Plus, since I know you all will be rushing out this weekend to get ALL five items on this list, I wanted to give you plenty of time to prepare yourselves. And don’t worry, these aren’t the only fall trends, but the name of the game is Friday’s Top Five….not six, seven, or twelve.

#1. Oxblood colored items
I call the it burgundy, wine, Merlot (seems less violent, no?), but hey to each their own! If you don’t have this color in your wardrobe, get it now! No seriously, right now, I provided links below.

::Coat, Dress, Jeans, Clutch (could be a stretch budget wise..)

#2. Printed shoes….nuff’ said…



::Sneaker, Cheetah heels, Zebra flats, Speckled


#3. Leather

Accents or full blown ensembles.

::Shirt, Peplum, Skirt, Bag (Not a bargain, but def. swoon worthy)::

#4. Contrasting collars

Keep thinking happy thoughts, because Peter Pan collars are here to stay for another season. However, its not just the rounded out collars that are popular this coming season, but all varietys.

::Polka Dots, Pencil Dress, Blouse, Collar, Pleated Dress::

#5. Oversized Coats

Think big, awkward and blazer like..

::Clockwise- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5::

Other trends new and old: Peplum (still going strong), Big/Cozy Graphic print sweaters (think rugged America), Printed Pants, Dark Floral, Embellished, Camo, Shine (metallic), and ankle booties

Colors: Red, Gray, Jewel Tones, Winter White

Anyone itching to go to the mall now and pick some of these up? Anyone already rockin’ some of these trends?
We have a wedding to go to this weekend and Im pumped because I love weddings and seeing how the bride envisioned her big day! Anyone have any fun plans?
Congraulatory shout out to my GF who got a teaching job!! Go Girl! Anyone have any shout outs they wanna give?

    Excellent trend report! I love all 5, still on the fence about the oversized coat, but I'm game to try it. I'm chuckling at the oxblood trend … I remember, several years back now, saying to a friend of mine that her telling me the more salacious details of her relationship was turning my face oxblood red, and she was like – that's even a color?! LOL! It sure is, Suzy, and now -its even a trend 😉

    Amy, this is great! I completely agree with this post. I've been seeing oxblood or plummy colors a LOT for the new Fall items and yes, I am itching to go to the mall right now to re-vamp my summery wardrobe to add some new pieces for Fall/Winter!

    I did a HUZZAH dance when I saw the awkward shaped coats coming in this fall. I have so much of that in my wardrobe it's not even funny and that pair of printed t-strap heels is freaking gorgeous in your first post.
