Friday’s Top Five…

September 28, 2012

…Favorite Fall activities

Hey all, Happy Friday! I have been seeing some fall “to-do” lists floating around blogworld, so I decided to share my ‘to-do” list as well which includes some of my favorite activities and also some new things I want to try out this season.

#1. Go Apple Picking

My grandpa used to have huge apple trees in his yard that we used to pick from in the fall, and then once he was gone, we kind of just stopped picking. I’ve never  been to an orchard to strictly pick apples (at least that I can remember) and something about this seems so fun to me and in a way, I think it would be a nice way to remember my grandpa.

#2. Have a Bonfire

S’mores, hot coco and the feeling that your face is burning off? Ahhmazing. I actually plan on having one of these this weekend when the Mr. and I are home visiting my family in Cincinnati.

#3. Pumpkin Carving

Everything about this is so fun. Making pumpkin seeds, finding the perfect stencil online, carving for what seems like forever and then finally putting a candle in Mr. Jack-o-lantern to see if you actually did it right and laughing if you didn’t. Our last year’s pumpkins are below (the little guy in the middle is a prop made of glass, we like to stage photos around these parts). I did Nemo and fiance did the pup.

#4. Pumpkin Patches/Wineries/Corn Mazes

Okay, so that’s three things. All of which I heart. Last year some friends came up for the weekend to visit and a winery nearby had a pumpkin patch and a corn maze, SCORE! It was such a great day and Im hoping to go back again this year.

#5. Autumn Run

I know this seems odd, who says that?! Well, let me paraphrase with the fact that I love the autmn goodies that go along with fall. Pumpkin pie, Pumpkin roll, Pumpkin cookies, those darn s’mores…so an autmn jog has to be had to keep me in my jeans. Plus, I honestly love being outside, smelling the fall air and watching the leaves drift during a good run or walk.

And, lastly (#6?), Halloween is always good fun. I couldn’t find a picture of furbaby in her BananaSplit costume, but here are a few of her past Halloween/Fall looks wishing you a VERY happy weekend!

What’s your favorite fall activity? Baked good?
