Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins

Friday’s Top Five…and a sneak peek

September 14, 2012

…wedding shoe choices.

Who would’ve thought when I was picking out my wedding shoes that it would be such a tough choice? I actually have had my ceremony shoes for months, but lately I have been struggling with what type of “dancing shoes” to wear while I party like its 1999. Here are some boards with some definite swoon worthy footwear and at the end, a little sneak peek into my wedding day footwear.

#1. The Classic Heel.

Not much to say here. Simple. Elegant. Timeless.

#2. The Glitz

It is after all your wedding day, why not add a little frosting to your life?

#3. The Flat

Heels aren’t for everyone (crazy, I know). Here are some cuties for all you tall ladies out there.

#4. A little bit of color…

I.am.a.fan.

#5. The miscellaneous.

Winter UGGS? Flip Flops? Barefeet? Wedges? Hey, its YOUR wedding and only YOU know what vibe you’re going for!

Which type did I pick you may ask? Im def. a #4. girl. I wanted a little bit of flare on my feet (I love shoes) and so, I searched and searched and searched. The one day, I found the perfect pair- Badgley Mischka’s Lissa style. It took me a few days to bite the bullet, but then I thought to myself, “perfect color- check! Can wear again, check, check! Gorgeous design Carrie Bradshaw would approve of, SOLD.”
Buttttt, while I LURVE these shoes, the 4.5inch heel may be a bit grueling to get down with my bad self in, so I am debating on these two options for the reception.
Part of me knows the whole reason you get reception shoes is for comfort, so get the shimmer flats, but I am a heels girl at heart and I like a little height. Aren’t all TOMS supposed to be comfy? Then part of me thinks, those Badgley Mischka’s are so gorgeous I may never take them off…This is harder than picking my wedding dress. Decisions, Decisions.
What’s your wedding shoe style? Should I go with the wedge or flat TOMS for my reception?

I had beautiful gold Jimmy Choos as my wedding shoes and then changed into gold flip-flops half way though the night. The shoes were stunning but man did they kill my feet!

    Love the purple pumps!

I wore jewel incrusted flip flops for my wedding and it was the best decision ever. I was super comfortable the whole day. Remember unless you have a short dress, no one is going to see your shoes. You need to be comfortable. My shoes were gorgeous. Satin and bejeweled, very classy.

    Agi:)

I say buy a back up pair of comfy shoes just in case. I changed out of my ceremony shoes to a pair of wedges. I would've loved to changed into flats but then I would've been tripping on my dress!

My wedding shoes were silver and glittery and I loved them. For the reception I had on flip flops and no one really seemed to notice. LOVE the shoes you picked! ๐Ÿ™‚

I would tend toward the heels, but for dancing and comfort I would go with the flats. Even if they were just a back up for when your feet really started to hurt!

I would say go for the flats. They are bound to be more comfy and is anyone REALLY going to see them? Also, you will be able to wear them again for sure. ๐Ÿ™‚

I would lean towards the glitzy stuff, but the shoes that you chose are gorgeous and will make such a statement! I would lean more towards the flats for the reception, later on in the night anyway. They're super cute!

I am so in love with the color idea. It makes it super fun to add an accent to you among all the white/ivory. I did a red flat… so they brought comfort and that color pop ๐Ÿ™‚

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your ceremony shoes! Beyond beautiful! And I'm going to vote for the shimmer TOMS. I personally don't find them comfortable, but I think flats will be WAY better for dancing if you're going to party for hours.

I love the color of the heels that you chose! And, I agree, for the reception you'll want flats. Tom's shoes are always a good choice, and the fact that the ones you chose have sparkles makes them A+.

I got silver sparkly heels and loved them to death. They were the best and I instantly knew I wanted them. I also wore them for the reception. Because dancing is my favorite, I did end up taking them off later in the night and just going barefoot. Should I not admit that? Oh well. I couldn't stop dancing!

I definitly like the color shoes. For my reception, I went with bright blue peeptoe pumps, but they only had a 2" heel. I danced in them all night.

I wore heels with a jewel on the front, and it ended up catching on my lace wedding dress almost the whole night. Something to think about if your dress has lace/tulle at the bottom! Good luck with the shoe shopping!!
