Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins

Throw Back Thursday

September 20, 2012

Is there a time limit to have something be a “throw back?” If there is I’m being a rebel today and breaking the rules. These pictures were taken mid-July the day after I got my wisdom teeth taken out which explains why my face is blow-fish swollen status. Okay, it wasn’t as bad as the chipmunk cheeks my sister got when she had hers taken out, but they are…puffy (isn’t that a funny word?).
Anyway, I know many people are thinking “damn girl still took her pics after having wisdom teeth surgery the day before?” Dedication folks. Truth is, yes. I had cabin fever and HAD to get out of the house (I’m one of those people). What these pictures don’t tell you is that my teeth probably haven’t been brushed for fear of pain and I’m jacked up on vicodin. I did however manage to have some soup at dinner and a few pieces of pasta I chewed with my two front teeth.

::Skirt GAP, Bag Steve Madden (Love this similar style for fall), Shoes Tahari, Jacket J.Crew (Love this one) Jacket also seen here  and here, Shirt J.Crew, Belt Forever21, Sunnies RayBan, Jewelry David Yurman Fancescas Forever21 Macys::
Even though these photos were taken almost three months ago, I must have had fall on the brain because this is the perfect example of how to take a simple summer outfit and give it a little spruce of fall. A utility jacket like this has the ability to work wonders on summery items. I may be sporting this look again this fall with a change in bag and some cute flats.
What one item do you have in your closet that you throw on with a summer piece to make it work for cooler months?

I remember having my wisdom teeth out and dammit I wanted out of that house! I felt like I was in prison and needed some fresh air! That being said, you have some serious dedication to be taking photos AND looking this cute!

OK, you look too pretty for just having gotten your wisdom teeth out in this picture. When I had mine out, I looked like my face gained 100 pounds and I'm pretty sure I was drooling everywhere haha.

I love the mixed prints! You look great especially considering you just had your wisdom teeth taken out – lol!!

I think my go-to item to take a summer outfit into fall would be any of my blazers. It's super easy to throw on a blazer with just about any outfit!

You don't look puffy at all! Still beautiful ๐Ÿ™‚ I like this outfit, and I think you can still wear each of the pieces in different outfits with a more fall touch: skirt with tights and a sweater? top with jeans and knee high boots? jacket with SO many things!
