Wedding Nails

December 18, 2012

I go back and forth on what I want to do with my nails for the wedding. I love a simple, classic french manicure, but Pinterest has so many cool ideas, I just can’t 100% decide. Here are some of my favorites.

::All images via Pinterest and my iphone::

Some of these just scream fun to me, the glitter tips? One glitter accent nail? So cute! But then, a normal frenchie or light blush look oh so elegant…decisions decisions….It seems like such a trivial decision, but it’s small details like this that I love.

What did you/what would you do for your nails? Fun, classy? Spill- I need opinions!

I love the basic French manicure for weddings, personally. Maybe add some sparkle on top or the tips?

so early on in my wedding planning process i had a horrible nightmare that my nails on my wedding day were black, and chipped. i couldn't shake the image from my mind [it was really the only big thing i freaked about] and didn't rest until i found the perfect shade (OPI's "I've got a date toknight"). AND my manicurist put shellac top coat on it so it lasted super long into the honeymoon. crisis averted!

but in the end, my nails were the farthest thing from my mind on what turned out to be the best day ever. so whatever you pick, it's going to be perfect!

I adore the glitter accents – on the tips, ends or on whole nails. They are definitely cute and a little bit more original than the standard pink!

I had mine painted in very pale pink – boring, I know, but I didn't want anything too fancy as my dress was quite simple, too. I knew that I didn't want a French manicure – they can look so tacky! The girl that did my nails was very surprised to see that I didn't want any stickers, glitter or art on my finger/wedding ring finger. But that's just me!

Good luck with choosing – let us know when you decide what to go for! ๐Ÿ™‚

I wanted to do a french manicure for my wedding, but in the end I decided to do nude nails. I used a nude Essie color (I don't remember the name- maybe Sand Dunes, or Sand Tropez??) and I loved it. So simple and gorgeous.

Amy… remember everyone will be looking at your hands to see your rings. Some people have never seen your engagement ring. And that there will be photos of you and your husbands hands while cutting the cake and the picture of your hands with your rings on. I would go with a pale pink – or a french manicure or I your really want some sparkle I would go with the 8th image. (opi's Bubble bath (gel) is so pretty. Maybe that with a clear glitter top coat.

I love the light pink with a touch of sparkle. But agree with another reader, that a lot of people are going to be looking at your nails. So what about the light pink on all of them and just a little sparkle on your ring fingers?? A nice, simple, elegant combination of the classy and sassy. So happy for you! Enjoy all this planning! It flies by!
