A week or so back, a couple girlfriends and I went apple picking. I hadn’t been in years and forgot how fun those little day trips can be as adults. We laughed about finding the perfect apple of course sampled the apple butters and bar-b-ques and at the end of the day, I had 9 lbs of apples in a sack to bring home.
As I said in yesterday’s post (here), we spent a large part of Friday baking pies and making caramel apples. I planned on eating all 9 lbs with peanut butter and cheese, but Aaron said he would like a pie, which led me to think of more creative things to do with my apple surplus. In fact, as I type this, I am crock potting apples to make apple sauce. Just call me Betty Crocker! I never realized how easy caramel apples could be (apple pie and made-from-scratch crust are another story..). So, I wanted to share with you how we decorated our apples, which have been delicious thus far, so that you can bring some fall goodness into your home. Who doesn’t love fall activities?!?!
p.s.
Today Im posting for Amy over at Leopard and Lillies while they make their travels back the United states, check it out here.
And yesterday, I guest posted for Laura of A Little Bit of Lacquer while she spends time with her sweet new baby girl. Check that one out here.

Carmel apples yummy! Also try coring your aplles, then pouring your caramel sauce into the hole. Slice the apple and voila! The inside is pre coated with just the right amount of caramel.

I love caramel apples–and really anything to do with apples during the fall! You should try combo-ing your cheese eating WITH the apples…I've learned that's a very popular thing down south!
