This past weekend two of our best friends were in town from college. I apologize for lack of posts, but I wanted to make sure I spent quality time with them instead of my computer. I even slacked on Instagram! It was an absolutely gorgeous weekend of 60 degree temps and sunshine and while in the past I haven’t considered a maxi a fall staple item, this skirt from Our World Boutique just seemed like a good idea this past Sunday. It’s all about layers I guess.
Am I missing the snow that fell on Ohio this morning? Absolutely not, but I am missing cooler temps for boots, chunky scarves and etc. However, I know as soon as they are here (which they will be eventually), Ill be wishing it was 80 degrees and warm- so Im taking each day as God is giving it. Simply checking the weather and dressing for the temps. A lot of ladies are making me awfully jealous with their extreme layering photos though!
A shout out to my gal pal Misti for being my photographer this weekend! With Aaron working until past dark and only one day off, it’s definitely going to be interesting trying to get outfit photos this fall/winter. I may have to break out the tripod and learn how to use it!
Tell me, are you wearing boots and chunky knits despite the weather or is it already cool where you are?

I'm already wearing chunky knits! I probably shouldn't, but I just can't help myself 🙂

Haha if it makes you feel any better, I'm jealous of you–not sure I'm ready for snow yet! You look adorable.

I love maxi skirts but never wear them into the fall. I need to pull mine out!

I love this look.. and yes, I'm in Northern California and I'm in chunky knits and boots… but I've also been known to wear those things and get hot so whatever… I hate the weather dictating what I wear.. unless it's what I want then I'm totally fine with it… 😉

I totally love a skirt with a jean jacket, you look fab! Sadly I don't even own a jean jacket. I'm currently on the hunt because I think they work so well with dresses, too.

That red and white striped maxi skirt is beautiful! 🙂
It's spring here in Australia so less layering going on as the days heat up! 🙂

Being in Ohio, I am totally rocking the layers now. But I am jealous that it was in the 60s for you! I think we might get that tomorrow…at least I hope! And a maxi skirt is the best…warm but cool. And you're rocking layers with the shirt and the jacket 😉

I need to see your shoes! haha! I love the idea of a transitional maxi, but I get stumped with the shoes. Nothing feels "right" with it. The outfit is great though – love it! We've dipped as low as 17 degrees here in St. Louis, but today it's in the 70s. Not sure what's up with that…
