Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins

Pinky

November 5, 2013

::Blouse J.Crew (here), Scarf c/o FRAAS , Jacket c/o SheInside (similar here), sunnies Target, Jeans J.Crew, Purse Michael Kors, booties Forever21 (old, but LOVE these), Bracelets c/o Bip and Bop, David Yurman::
I am guilty of never wearing color. I don’t know what it is about neutrals like beige, white, black and brown, but I feel my best in them. Especially around this time of year, I find myself being drawn to warmer colors and tend to wear black more than I like to admit. My husband’s response is “black again?” almost weekly. That said, I’ve really been making a conscience effort to wear more shades/colors. It’s hard for me! I feel like half my closet is neutrals, so it’s all about mixing what cha’ got. For example, I love this dot tuxedo shirt J.crew and typically I’d probably throw a black blazer over it, but for a day date with Aaron, I choose my new FRAAS scarf (which is SO soft and comfy) and it inspired me to throw some more color over my look with this fabulous SheInside blazer.
Does anyone else have this problem, or is it just me? It’s not that I don’t like experimenting with color, I do…I guess I just need to break out of my comfort zone a little bit more! Any tips for me!?

I’ve been taking cues from Emily, Jade, McKenna and Megan, fabulous ladies that always rock color fantastically. Every time I see them rockin bright hues for fall, it inspires me to do the same!
What is you go-to color?

I'm terrified of color! I'm inspired by your bold pink blazer. So my go-to color would be grey… Lame, right?? I don't think that is even a color. Lol. Great outfit and I'll work on adding color to my wardrobe!! =)

I think starting with muted colors may make the transition easier– get your toes wet to start, then ease into bolder colors… unless you're a jump into the deep end kind of girl. I recommend picking one colorful item to base your outfit around, and then choose neutrals to balance it out. Sometimes it will be a scarf, a dress, or a top that is the colorful piece… although I realize lately I've been guilty of sticking to mostly neutrals as well!

This blazer is such a great piece! Like you, I find myself wearing neutrals a lot, so I always try to add at least one fun color to each outfit, even if it's just a necklace!

I love this blazer! I definitely don't have that problem- I have the opposite; sometimes a good head to toe black outfit is nice but I just can't seem to let myself go there…haha! But I find it so easy to add color. For example, today is the first time I'm wearing a lot of black- black sweater, black leather skirt, black tights….so what I did was add a great pair of purple suede wedges and a fun, colorful necklace. And now I'm not all black!:) Hope that helps haha

You look Ah-MAZING! I do the same thing. I always feel better when dressed in almost all black, which happens to be exactly what I'm wearing right this minute. For some reason, I think I'm drawn to it almost. It's easier to throw something together that's all neutrals because it's a comfort zone… Love what you've done with this outfit! πŸ™‚

Haha black again? It's funny how husbands sometimes respond to our fashion…sounds like what my hubby would say! Anyway I'm the opposite usually in color but lately in black. Love the blazer & the scarf!!

I have eased into it, usually by adding an accent piece first. A blazer is a great way to do it too – since you can easily take it off. πŸ™‚ Fantastic outfit here!

I've always enjoyed color and neutrals equally.. I just choose based on how I'm feeling that day. Some days just call for all black and others, I guess when I'm feeling more adventurous, cal for bold colors.

You look awesome in that blazer… pink suits you! Keep up the color, girlie! πŸ™‚
