Coffee Beans and Bobby Pins

Closet Tour

January 15, 2014

Part of what sold me on wanting to move into our loft was
the huge master closet in our bathroom. I figured we would have plenty of space
for both mine and Aaron’s wardrobe, but I was sadly mistaken soon on. We still
keep cocktail dresses, coats, sweaters and personal items elsewhere, but we do
have the majority of our wardrobes (let’s be honest, I use 75% of the closet)
in there.
Sadly, we don’t plan to stay in our loft next year, so this
it’s sad to think I wont have this much space this time next year, but I wanted
to give you some insight to how I organize my stuff. I literally am using
almost every square inch and slowly transitioning our plastic hangers out and
velvet ones in (but I’m taking a break since it can get quite pricey with as
much stuff as we have!).
I hope you enjoy this little sneak peek!

Since we live in a loft, our closet doesn’t have a door
which means I am constantly trying to keep it looking organized and in order. While
we are the only ones who typically use our bathroom, it drives me nuts to see
it a mess in there!
One day I dream of having a large walk in closet with custom
shelving, etc. But for now, this closet has been wonderful- Ill be sad to say goodbye to it come June.

How do you maintain your closet? Is it huge or do you make
do with a tiny one?
Have a great day!

Your closet looks so organised! I'm in the process of trying to reduce what I have in mine so I have a bit more space and can start getting it organised nicely.

Well, I thought I had a pretty good sized closet after we moved in and then got it customized (which is awesome by the way)….and then I went on a major shopping binge that seemed to go on for a year. There is still space but it's tight and I need to get rid of stuff which is hard for me to do.

As usual, I get on here and become hugely jealous of your wardrobe. It never fails. But I'm with you on the closet space. What DIDN'T get me sold on renting our apartment was the small "walk-in" closet in our bedroom. I can't walk into it because my clothes hung on either side actually touch each other in the middle. I would SO kill to have a closet like this.

Oh I dream of a walking closet too! Although I'd trade closets with you any day cause mine is half the size of yours, love that you keep it by colours and prints. Velvet hangers have saved my life, well my closet, it has improved so much since I switched.

I always dream that I'll have a pretty closet that's really organized and has enough space, but sadly I don't think that's ever going to happen. Yours is so well organized! Impressive. I may need to start buying some velvet hangers.

Closet space is a dream. I have a normal sized closet with a few built in shelves but I do little things to make it feel grander. Matching huggable hangers and my favorite pictures in silver frames with jewelry displayed in mixed glass pieces do the trick!

Oh my closet is tiny and I share it with my husband.. I think I have about 3ft in length of closet space.. but it is what it is! I buy my velvet hangers from Marshall's or TJ Max… and they are amazing and cheaper.. however your closet is considerably larger than mine! So it might just be the same!

Love it! I also love those velvet hangers! So space-saving! I buy mine at TJMaxx too. Working on ways to functionally organize my jewelry, like your collection on the wall. Might work on that soon. Thanks for sharing! 🙂 -Alexandra

Oh my goodness, I live in a loft as well and while I LOVE it, the clothing keeps increasing and the closet not so much. Ha! I have definitely been dreaming of a walk-in closet.. maybe one day it'll come true! You have a great system going on though, so kudos for that! 🙂

I was lucky enough to get a really decent sized walk in closet – as in, I can walk in it, bend over, spin around in a circle, store luggage, etc. And I think whenever I move (maybe next year, who knows) I'm going to definitely need a closet that's just as big! I love it so much.
