Happy
New Year to you all! I hope everyone had an eventful, yet safe evening. Welcome
to 2014!
Today
I wanted to share not only what I wore on Christmas day, but also a look at last
year’s resolutions and tell you my 2014 ones. They say only 8% of people
stick with theirs after making them and I’m determined to be one of them this
year!
2013 Resolutions:

1. Take more fashion risks, some may work…others well..bare with me folks. –I did okay with this,
definitely something I need to work on for 2014.
2. Try new recipes and lots of them. We got two Barefoot Contessa Cookbooks
over the holidays/wedding and I am already in love. –I did a ton in Ohio and even have tried
a few here in NC. I am always up for new, yummy meal ideas.
3. Take Bella for more walks. –REALLY need to be better about this.
4. Sit on the sofa with my husband and do absolutely nothing, no multi tasking,
no blogging, just me+him talking and maybe some TV. –this time is so precious
when he’s off, I really need to unplug more.
5. Redecorate and experiment with color (we will be moving in June so Ill be forced to do
this). Yes!
6. Call my friends/family more, not because I have something to ask, but
because its nice to hear their voices. Yes- I hope they agree!
7. Learn to bake, this might be on 2014’s resolution list too if I can’t
improve my skills drastically. Fail, definitely on 2014’s list
8. Host a dinner party –I did! Small ones, but they still count!
9. Plan one or two fun weekend getaways! –We went away for Aaron’s medical school
graduation and a trip to Asheville,
in a few weeks, we haveCharleston trip in the works!
10. Stop to take it all in more. It’s not perfect- its life, but its beautiful.
–can’t we all
do this a little more?

2014
Resolutions/To-Do List:
1.
Learn how to use my camera and possibly take a class
2.
Do more beauty reviews/hair tutorials on the blog
3.
Get back into shape (I know, I know, so cliché), but I have gained 9lbs since
moving to
Durham
and it HAS to go.
4.
Run another half marathon and PR
5.
Make a budget and STICK to it!
6.
Save for something big and have no regrets about buying it.
7.
Try not to worry as much
8.
Twirl more
Number
8 goes right along with these photos. My parents live out in the middle of
nowhere, so finding the perfect blog background is interesting. I told Aaron,
let’s shoot in the middle of the road and I twirled right there on the vacant
street laughing so hard my belly hurt.
I want to have 1000 more moments like
that with the people I love in 2014.

Happy
New Year y’all- I hope 2014 is fantastic for you.

I am definitely with you there on goal #1- I just got a new camera a little bit ago and I am pretty clueless on how to use it. My friend and I talked about taking a class together, since she was expecting to get a camera for Christmas. I need to look into it and get us signed up!
    Happy New Year!
