started a routine when it comes to my skincare (I know, I’m terrible). Something
about being closer to 30 as opposed to 20 made me realize I should actually
start taking care of my skin while it’s still nice and unwrinkled.
share with you my nighttime skincare routine. I plan to share my morning
routine soon and also a more in depth description of each of these products in
the near future. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please feel free
to email me.
Clarisonic (review coming soon) and this Purity
face wash that a friend recommended. It smells great and is gentle. I have
had this bottle for about two months and I’ve hardly used any. Unlike some
face washes, it really leaves my skin feeling fresh and soft and gets rid
of makeup residue. Sometimes I use it directly on my Clarisonic and some
nights I simply use it alone- regardless, I highly recommend it even
though it is slightly more expensive than a typical bottle of Neutrogena cleanser
you can pick up at the drug store (tip: my girlfriend gets hers on Amazon
and saves a few bucks, so you can try that!)
topical treatment. I have struggled with imperfect skin all of my life. While
my battle with acne has certainly improved since highschool, it’s still
extremely frustrating to have it into my late twenties. This Epiduo is
only available through prescription, but I would recommend a salicylic
acid or benzyl peroxide treatment if you battle trouble areas like I do.
Here is another Philosophy product
with salicylic and a cheaper option you can pick up at your drugstore here.
your eyes youthful is a big part of anti-aging. It’s definitely a sting to
spend money on wrinkle creams when I’d rather buy a new top, but
eventually I think my skin will thank me. I use Kiehls products because I love that
they are organic and unscented, but there are plenty of drug store eye
creams that you can pick up if you prefer a budget option (here is an affordable $8.00 option). Again,
the amount you need is so small that any product you buy is sure to last
for months. I simply put this below my eyes (where bags form), on my
eyelids and then near my crows feet.
Kay’s Timewise on my neck area. I could probably just use the Kiehls
product, but for some reason, I just prefer to use the MK product in that area.
I think because it’s a serum it dries a little stiff giving me the feeling that
my neck is staying firm. J The neck is an area that I think people really forget
when it comes to skin care, but just like the eyes, it has the power to age
you- so no matter what product you use, just make sure you don’t neglect this
area!
5. Lastly, I apply my Kiehls wrinkle cream all over my face
(avoiding areas around my eye I just applied). Again, I really like my Kiehls product, but more affordable
options are everywhere (here and here are examples). I love this product
because it’s not only protecting me from winkles (I hope!), it also moisturizes
and makes my skin feel extremely soft in the morning when I wake up. It
also sets in and dries quickly so that I can hop in bed after application
and not worry about it ending up on my pillow instead of my face.
lot, but in reality, my nighttime prep actually only takes about 5 minutes, if
that. I simply apply the product give it about 30 seconds to dry and then layer
on the next. Since I’ve started this routine I have noticed that my skin is
less likely to breakout, feels softer and more nourished and is actually a lot
brighter.

You look amazing without makeup, Amy!
I have so many skin care items in my bathroom cabinet, my night time routine varies a little bit. But, for the most part, I use Clinique's Cleansing Balm to remove makeup, Fresh Soy Face Cleanser with my Clarisonic to cleanse my face, Biologique Recherche P50V (exfoliating toner), a spritz of Liz Earle Boosting Tonic (for moisture), Origins spot remover if I need it, REN ClearCalm3 Serum (really great for acne prone skin!!), Caudalie eye cream, and Origins Night-a-mins Cream. If I have any acne spots that are healing, I use an oil on them to keep the skin moisturized in that area. And every once in a while, I'll use an overnight mask or oil on top of my night cream.

Thanks for sharing.. I too have had acne into my later twenties and it is incredibly frustrating. Just thought I'd let you know that the active ingredient in EpiDuo isn't salicylic acid as you mentioned in step 2, but benzyl peroxide and adapalene, a mild retinoid.

I use Burt's Bess sensitive skin and Clinique sensitive skin formulas, and my skin hasn't looked this good in years. Though don't try the Burt's bees organic acne stick. It works but it feels like your face is burning!

I love the Mary Kay time wise! I don't use it as often as I should, but my skin feels so good every time I do!

I've been thinking I really need to start and evening skincare routine. I use a daily moisturizer with SPF, but I need to take care of my skin and prevent wrinkles as I get closer to 30.

There's definitely something about being closer to 30 that makes you want to take care of your skin…I'm in the same boat!

These are some great recommendations! I've been the same way with not really nailing down skincare habits until just recently — and even now I'm still kind of figuring out my faves, really need to find a go-to eye cream…
