This past weekend we celebrated my birthday with friends on Friday night and just the two of us on Saturday night. Waking up on Friday I was feeling down since it was my first birthday away from home, but my friends here in town really made me feel special throughout the day/night which made me realize how blessed we are to have such a great group of people here in our lives. It’s crazy to think about all of the people we have met here, from so many different areas of the country- it has been such an adventure! By the end of the night Friday my attitude about my first birthday was anything but down, from special cocktails to surprise birthday cakes and jazz bands, I was feeling quite the opposite- incredibly humbled and thankful. Thank you dear Durham friends, Aaron and I are so lucky to know each of you!
