In an effort to eat healthier, I have been trying to fuel up on oatmeal for breakfast. There is just one problem my friends, I am not a fan of oatmeal unless it covered in nuts, berries, coconut…you name it. My girlfriend Mary recently told me about a cold oatmeal she has been eating and like the superb friend she is, she let me sample hers. Yum! She found the recipes here. Not only are they super delicious, but honestly the possibilities are endless. Plus, you can prep them on Sunday night for the whole week.
I made some of my own concoctions (blueberry/banana, banana/peanut butter, blueberry/raspberry, strawberry/blueberry, strawberry/banana), but you can literally throw whatever you’d like in. I basically just followed the directions from The Yummy Life’s recipe and then added in my own fruit. The only thing I did differently was used tupperware. I love the cute little mason jar idea, and I even went to Target to pick some up and guess what? I walked out of Target with deodorant, sour patch kids and a new nail polish- notice anything missing? Yes, the mini mason jars…enter tupperware. Not so glamorous or cute, sorry.
Give it a shake!
I know it kind of looks like mush, but it’s fantastic. Plus, who wants warm oatmeal once spring and summer hit? This is a perfect little recipe for warmer days ahead! This is an oatmeal I can be friends with.
Are you an oatmeal fan, have you tried cold oatmeal?

That actually looks pretty darn delicious. That would go wonderfully with my current breakfast of toast and a single cup coffee .

Holy crap I actually have ALL those ingredients! I'm going to make up a batch right now for tomorrow morning! I've been working at home with an injury and a delicious breakfast that I don't have to get up and cook sounds like a great way to start the day : )

Yum! Chia seeds are great in smoothies, too.

So this isn't overnight oats? I tried to make overnight oats with greek yogurt and was not a fan, but this could work better!
