::Dress c/o Black Swan via Nordstrom (here), Shoes Tory Burch (here), Sunnies c/o Ozeal, Jacket J.Crew (similar below), Necklace Total Betty Society (here), Bag Madwell old (similar below), Bracelets C.Wonder, David Yurman, Stella and Dot::
I don’t purchase baby doll cut dresses. I’m larger chested and have a short waist, so I’ve never quite felt comfortable in them. Plus, none of them have ever flattered my body type. However, when I tried on this Black Swan dress, I really liked it. It was cut like a baby doll, but more loosely, and I loved the soft fabric and the frayed edges of it to almost give it that boho affect. I can’t say enough about the quality of this line found at Nordstrom, you can see the white dress I posted here (also worn in Savannah). I kept things simple for a day of sight seeing and paired this with my new Total Betty Society necklace (ironically also posted in the white dress photo). It just goes to show that even though you think you can’t wear something, you might as well try it on because you may find yourself surprised. The fact that the dress has adorable leather straps and covered my belly from all that delicious Southern food didn’t hurt either. 😉
What’s an item or type of item that you simply don’t try on because you just think you can’t pull it off? I also hate wearing shorts (hate my legs!).
One more day until Friday! Thanks for reading!

You're right, this dress is so flattering on you! I don't know that I would have tried it because I don't think dresses that don't have a very defined waist are very flattering on me. I guess that just goes to show that you never know until you try something!

I love the dress, and I feel exactly the same way about shorts, no matter what length I just don't feel comfortable!

Strapless is not flattering on me at all, so I understand your pain. I've got extremely broad/strong shoulders (I do a lot of weightlifting) and am small chested. I think your rocking the baby doll look though, and i love the detail with the leather straps!
