While it’s hard, I typically try to keep my life pretty organized- the type-A person in me needs it. My purse and work bag are no different. The last thing I want to do when finding my car keys is scour through 20 lipsticks, 14 hair ties and 7 bobby pins- so enter little organizers. Now, is this to say that I never have gum wrappers, dry cleaning tickets and other junk in my bag? No, I definitely do. BUT, I prefer to have it nice and clean! Below are some tips for how I keep my bags organized.
- Use smaller bags- duh. I keep hair ties and misc. beauty items (i.e. bobby pins, rubber bands, concealer, etc.) all in one little pouch. I typically pick the small pouches up for from stores like Target or Walmart. I also keep my lipsticks in a smaller pouch (yes, I have a LOT of lipstick I carry around).
- Always keep something to munch on in your bag. This seems odd, but I find if I have something to eat in my bag, it keeps me away from polluting my purse with fast food restaurants. I love these Life Choice meal replacement bars (and other snack bars in the line) from Walmart. They are delicious, nutritious, full of protein and keep me satisfied when I’m out running errands or am simply too busy to have a sit down meal. #collectivebias
- Clean out your bag once weekly. As I said, I am still guilty of throw in items into my bags that don’t belong. So once a week, I take 5 minutes out of my day to put all the items back in their location, throw away trash and reorganize.
- Utilize your inside pockets. I use one pocket for a pen, my inside zipper pocket for gum and my other for car keys so I know right where they are. If you get in the habit of utilizing the pockets in your purse, you’ll be sure to keep items where they belong and not spend 10 minutes looking for your keys in bottomless pit!
Very easy, I know, but so helpful nonetheless!
Do you typically keep your bag organized? Or is it a MESS?

I use little pouches all the time, too- we sell them at Stella & Dot! 🙂 Great tips for organizing! I started rotating my bags, depending on my outfit, which I thought would be a hassle, but it's been a good way to stay clean, actually! 🙂

Great tips! I love using smaller cosmetics bags, too. I need to start keeping some kind of healthy snack in my bag so it's easy to grab instead of hitting a gas station!

I'm totally guilty of my purse looking like a heaping pile of receipts and wrappers by the end of the week so it's nice to know someone else is in the same boat as me. I remember cleaning out my bag and finding two bottles of water in it from the week before. Ha!

I use the smaller bags too! I also use a few small clutches for other cards and coupons so my wallet isn't out of control too! Great ideas 🙂

Great tips! I always keep a snack for myself and for my boy in my bag so we don't hit the fast food drive thru. #client
