Did anyone else wake up today amazed that this is the last
week of August? I can’t believe this weekend is Labor Day and that a new month
is already upon us. During the day I sometimes feel like time is slowly ticking
(possibly because I’m at work), but week after week, I comment on how fast the
days of summer seem to slip through our fingertips. While I discussed here
last week that summer is still upon us, Labor Day does bring a certain closure
to another season. While I am certain North Carolina will see MANY MANY more 90
degree + days, school is officially in session and has been and eventually the
days will start to get shorter…. <insert sad face>. One good thing about
that is the need to get together with friends and celebrate another passing
holiday! This past weekend we got together with friends and chatted, ate, drank
refreshing cocktails and beverages and just relaxed.

dress to hang out with friends and absolutely love the embellished detailing
and cut outs, how fun right? Since we were just getting together for dinner and
a casual night, I tried to dress it down a bit with strappy sandals and cognac
accessories, but I know with some black heels and more sparkly jewels this will
be such a great LBD for a special occasion too!

Speaking of the upcoming holiday weekend, Aaron is off, but
works Monday so an earlier celebration is in store. Hopefully we will have some
people over for a grill out if all goes according to plan. I always keep an
array of beverages on hand for reason such as this and Smirnoff
is a great option because it’s light, fresh and let’s be honest, easy! Plus, the
flavors they have out (this Peach Bellini was delish) are such to appease
anyone’s tastes. We don’t plan on having anything fancy, but maybe some
burgers, music, drinks and overall just good company. Isn’t that the perfect
mix for any type of gathering?
