Although Halloween isn’t my favorite holiday, I do love the festivities that the holiday brings: pumpkin patches, carving, Halloween decorations, adorable kids in costumes, and etc. This past weekend some of our friends and us headed to a pumpkin patch for a corn maze and some pumpkin buying; after, we all came back to our house for an assortment of food and carving. To make it easy, I picked up some Digornio Pizzas from Walmart and everyone brought an appetizer to share. It was a no fuss gathering (which are some of the best in my opinion) with good conversation and lots of laughs.
In advance of the evening, I also picked up a huge bag of Wonka Halloween candy to make cute little favors for everyone. These little witches brooms were filled with candy and so easy to make. Plus, my friends loved having them to snack on throughout the night! I thought I would share this quick and easy tutorial with y’all for your upcoming Halloween gatherings! #treats4all
1. Each witches broom will take 2 brown paper lunch bags. Cut midway down both bags. After, cut strips to the bottom of the bag around the first bag. Do this on all four sides.
2. After you have cut the first bag, take the second bag and cut fringe about 2 inches. Place the fringed bag inside of the bottom of the first bag (shown in right picture). Fill fringed bag with goodies!
3. Place a pretzel rod (the broomstick) in the center of the bag and gather “tassel papers” around the pretzel. Holding them up around the pretzel, tie up with string of twine.
4. For extra cuteness, add a name tag on the bag and display for guests! Voila, little broomsticks!
Above are the completed pumpkins. Two of my girlfriends choose to “bedazzle” their pumpkins instead of carving which turned out adorable. Mine is the vampire- we all used the stencils that came with our carving stuff to make it easy.
Do y’all carve pumpkins? I hope our last long enough to light for the Trick or Treaters in a few weeks! #collectivebias
