While we are on vacation, I plan to have a few frozen bevs that are – calorie filled and delicious. I love a good beach cocktail, but let’s face it- I don’t love the caloric intake. I would make these drinks a ton at home if I could drink them all day and have my pants fit still, but I can’t. Or so I thought. In preparation while packing, Aaron and I thought it would be fit to make some fun low calorie cocktails to celebrate a long awaited vacation! We didn’t have daiquiri mix, but we did have Crystal Light that we had picked up at Walmart for work days (we don’t like to drink pop and coffee ALL day, and this is a great alternative way to get some H2O throughout the day!) Anyway, back to the cocktails– we thought, “hey, why not try this?”
Here is what you need:
- 1 oz white rum
- Crystal Light Package (we used Wild Strawberry and Raspberry- 1/2 of each!)
- Raspberries
- Strawberries (we used frozen which helped slush it)
- Ice (1/2 cup)
- 1/2 cup water
- Juice of 1 lime
Put all ingredients in blander and blend until smooth. Garnish and enjoy!
It actually was delicious and while it still has some calories (5 for the Crystal Light and then probably 60 for the rum), it’s relatively low calorie and the perfect alternative for enjoying these drinks while at home!

I definitely plan to make these again once we are home. Sadly, I don’t think our resort will be serving low calorie drinks, but I will enjoy them nonetheless!
