What to Wear to a Fall Football Game

September 30, 2015

Tee shirt c/o / Jeans / Booties / Hat  / Flannel / Bracelets

I have always struggled with what to wear cheering on my favorite teams. Summer is pretty easy- a tee shirt and a pair of cut off shorts, but winter and fall sports are always a little trickier in my opinion. My parents had season tickets to the Bengals when I was growing up and we would go all the time. Winter games were easy to dress the part because you literally just layered and layered so you wouldn’t freeze, but fall games were always a little more challenging. I always want to look cute, but still support my team. I used to wear jerseys, but I got sick of my favorite players being traded right after my purchases, so now I stick to t-shirts, sweatshirts, etc. I picked this tee off of NFLShop.com for all those reasons. It’s cute, comfortable and supports Cincinnati without being too in your face (Who-Dey!). I was actually really surprised by great selection of women’s clothing and accessories they had. I also picked up a new hat, a dog toy and some Bengal helmet golf balls which we lost in Hilton Head as well.  I love that with a simple tee shirt, you can layer it up and wear it all around, not just to watch the game. We ran errands the morning I wore this and while I got a few questionable looks for being a Cincy fan, I felt confident and cute in this little ensemble.

Now, would I recommend wearing this in a dead of December game? Def not. This is for fall, house viewing parties, etc- just to be clear. Funny story: the day after Aaron and I got married, we (and a bunch of our closest friends), thought it would be a good idea to go to a Bengals game. December 30th people. Not only were we exhausted, but it was SO cold, and of course being the bride, I wanted to look cute…but it just wasn’t happening in freezing temps. I think we may have only stayed until half time and I can’t even remember if they won or not, but we still had a blast continuing the celebration from the night before. Ahhhh memories, hard to believe it was almost three years ago! Time flies!

Who do you root for? Or are you already sick of College and NFL football?
