My mom used to have this shelf in her basement collecting dust and rusting. When I brought it home, Aaron gave me a skeptical look, but within a few days and little elbow grease, it was an adorable glass bar cart and we’ve been using it ever since. I love rearranging the items on it and seeing how much liquor we can acquire without actually drinking much of it. Seriously though, we obviously need to drink more… That aside, today I wanted to share with you what necessities I think make a great bar cart/area and how I make sure I am getting them for a great price thanks to Shopswell. The site is similar to Pinterest in terms of creating boards- but it also allows you to set reminders and goals for price points/sale notifications, essentially allowing you to shop smarter! If you’ve ever clicked on a cool product from your Pinterest feed, only to be disappointed when you’re not able to buy it or even find that product on the link that opens, you’ll love knowing that Shopswell only features products available for sale and even shows you the current price!I like that. There are also monthly giveaways, and who doesn’t love that?
The following are some items I think make a great and well styled bar cart and I also linked my “Bar Cart Necessities” list below on Shopswell so you can shop them for your cart!
1. Cart, obvi
2. Spellegrino or Sparkling water. To be honest, I like these most for the decor aspect, but it’s also nice to be able to grab a bottle when I know we’ll be having company over and throw it in the fridge for guests to enjoy.
3. Decanters, nice whiskey glasses. If you’re a whiskey/bourbon drinker, I love having the appropriate items for beverages. We got this decanter for our wedding and the glass set cheaply and put it on a nice tray (another necessity I love) and it makes it look like a set. I have a goal that one day our entire cart will just be bought/thrifted and vintage decanters with each liquor, but for now,we keep the nice bourbon in one.
4. I also love a good floral arrangement and some other fun quirks (my gold pineapple). You should have a couple pieces that are not alcohol/drink related that just show some personality.
5. Match Books/Candles. Another little quirk, but something that brings personality. I recently added this apothecary jar and use it to store the matches I collect from various places.
5. I like to have a variety of liquors for guests to enjoy. If you don’t drink, you can still have a cart! Make it a coffee/tea cart or even get those pretty bottles of lemonade or tea that places like Trader Joes sells!
6. Straws. My husband never uses these, but I mean, how can you not have fun paper straws when they are so cute?
7. A pretty tray. We got this one as a wedding gift- it has our initials and we love it, but any tray will do. I think it just bring it all together and takes up some extra space you may not know what to do with.
So those are my bar cart necessities, if you find yourself in need of any of these,
I was selected for this opportunity as a member of Clever Girls and the content and opinions expressed here are all my own.

This is a gorgeous bar cart. I've been thinking about creating one for our home for quite some time. You make it look so easy to put together, I just might have to make this my weekend project.

Your cart is loaded! Perfect variety of necessities. I love the bourbon decanter and glasses on the tray. I'm not a bourbon drinker but it looks so chic. Wine is my drink of choice! Fun post!
