Chili and S’mores

This past weekend, we hosted a chili and s’mores party for a small group of friends here in Durham. It was all pretty last minute, so we were definitely running around like crazy people on Saturday am, but it was great weather and great to catch up with friends in the middle of this busy life! I kept joking with Aaron as we prepped for the party that we made a good team splitting duties and cleaning the house. We were excited to partner with Mr.Clean to get our house in shape for our guests! We used Mr. Clean Multi Surface Concentrated Cleaner to get the house “party ready” and it was so much easier to only use one product for cleaning as opposed to 4-5. With a quick clean of our bathroom counters, living room (since that’s where most party go-ers hang out) and the other main areas (think kitchen, dining, etc) we were done in a jiffy! I always make sure to hit the high traffic areas with some extra elbow grease since people pay close attention to them and the concentrated cleanser was just what I needed for a quick yet deep clean. 

We kept everything pretty simple, we made a huge pot of chili and vegetable soup and then had all the toppings so people could doctor it up to their liking, this seemed to be a huge hit! I also made some smaller dips like guac and chips (always a fav.), some sweets and this pepperoni dip which was gone in about 20 minutes. Plus, the real draw of the night was of course the s’mores! We had regular and vanilla marshmallows and an assortment of candy bars for our guests to choose. We told guests to dress warm since we’d be outside carving pumpkins and roasting s’mores, but the night ended up being warm enough that thankfully no one froze and it was fall perfection!

With chili and all the fixings, also comes a big mess- but luckily Aaron and I are a pretty swell team when it comes to cleaning up too! Plus, with Mr. Clean, we felt like we were ready to enjoy our Sunday in half the time! I now know what we’ll be using to clean for our holiday gatherings! Additionally, with only one product needed, I plan to save money on cleaning products, a win/win!
