If you follow me on Instagram (amy_cbandbp), you that two weeks ago we headed to Blowing Rock, NC for a little R&R. We hadn’t been to the Boone area, but my coworker went to school there and is always chatting about it and since it’s only 3 hours away it’s perfect for a short night or weekend trip. We were so excited to partner with Southeast Toyota and drive an all new 2016 Camry for the trip. It was such a comfortable traveling car and the trunk is huge which was great for all the luggage we I took. I drive a small SUV, so I typically don’t like driving sedans, but this car was different. From the safety features to the technology features (sunroof, seat warmers, XM radio, extra charge ports, etc.) I thoroughly enjoyed driving it. Plus, the car is so smooth and so quiet. I kept saying to Aaron “I feel like I can’t hear any noise from outside…weird.” I loved it (my car is so noisy).

We picked the car up Friday evening and headed to Blowing Rock Saturday am after Aaron’s shift. He was post call, so he slept while I drove and jammed to music on my phone thanks to the auxiliary jacks. We had never been to the area, so upon arriving we stopped in Boone, NC before checking into our hotel for lunch and a  drive/walk through the town. Sadly, the weather wasn’t the greatest for the weekend. It has been so rainy lately here in NC and while it did make for chilly weather which I loved, it also made for wet weather! But what’s a little rain, right? I mean, look at those trees!

Because we went Halloween night, the town was a little booked up when it came to hotels, but we ended up snagging a room at the Village Inn and it was really quaint and cute. I was so sad that we would miss our Trick-or-Treaters, but the town of Blowing Rock had Trick-or-Treat uptown at all the business! It was soooo cute to see all the little kiddos in their costumes. We had dinner at Rustique and it was seriously AMAZING. So good.

The next morning, it was raining a little but it cleared right before we went zip lining. We’ve both been wanting to zip line for awhile, so this was the perfect opportunity. The Camry was amazing going through the mountains- great control and again, such a smooth ride.  In all, zip lining took about two hours and we were with two other young couples which I think made the experience more fun. I was SO nervous the first few lines (one line was literally a quarter mile long- but it was so fun! After, we grabbed lunch in Boone and hopped back into the Camry to head home. As you can see from above, we were listening to the Bengals game against Pittsburgh. We loved how the score was on the screen! Who Dey! 🙂

If you’re in the market for a new car, I would highly recommend the new Camry. The ride was great and made for a great weekend which we thoroughly enjoyed. We can’t wait to go skiing there this winter!
