When I graduated from High School, my sister Heather gave me a gorgeous ring set in sterling silver with a large greenish/black stone. I still have it and it looks just as beautiful now as it did then. Recently, I had the opportunity to host a small gathering with Silpada (the ring’s designer) and I was excited to see how their collection has evolved since I was in high school. Since it wasn’t a big event, just a few girlfriends, I kept it simple with my favorite champagne cocktail and lots of sweets, a true “Dessert Party” if you will. Peas and carrots in my opinion.
I came across this champagne drink at a friend’s baby shower and now I’m simply hooked. Plus, anything that’s super easy to throw together last minute is always a win in my book. All you need is a bottle of champagne or Prosecco (I used this one because I love how it tastes, the bottle is adorable and it’s reasonably priced), rosemary, blood orange bitters and sugar cubes (or loose sugar).
Simply pour a flute of champagne, add a sprig of rosemary, a dash or two of bitters and 1-2 sugar cubes. It’s a sweet but tangy mix that pairs great with desserts. Or, don’t pair it with anything, who says you need a reason to drink champagne?
Since I only had a few girlfriends over, I set up the food and Stylemaker jewelry display on our living rooms tables. This was perfect because it allowed us to drink/shop and mingle all together while kicking back and relaxing. There wasn’t anything to walk around, etc and this made the “party” seem much more laid back and casual. The “Stylemaker” is a new concept Silpada has introduced. The Stylemaker hosts her own “parties” with her immediate circle of friends and family. It’s not the traditional party where you have to spend hundreds to host a large event. Instead, the Stylemaker’s “party” is centered on the ShopBox – a box of 15 new Silpada pieces sent directly to the Stylemaker’s door for her to style, wear or sell from as she chooses for 14 days. My Shopbox was filled with gorgeous goodies; some of them I absolutely loved, others less so—but that’s the beauty of it. The best part is that whatever the host doesn’t sell, she sends back to Silpada free of charge. As for what the host does sell, you receive a direct profit (commission) of 25-30%. Hosts can also earn a $50 referral bonus for inviting other friends to be Stylemakers. Sounds like a win win for some amazing (and high-quality pieces). Who doesn’t love hanging with their girlfriends, drinking champagne and eating cupcakes? If you said “me,” then you need a girls night out, stat!
Have you ever purchased anything from Silpada? I love how their designs are clean and simple. It makes their pieces tried and true for years of stylish accessorizing.
