Black and White Lace Scallops

I am constantly trying to find items in my closet that can be taken from “work to play” and I love this lace scalloped top for that reason. For “example, I wore this look to work one day with black pumps and a blazer and then met a girlfriend after work for drinks and some girl time. Thanks to an easy switch of my shoes and some statement earrings, I was ready for some girl time as opposed to work time. This shirt is really great quality actually and I got a ton of compliments on it when I wore it. It doesn’t hurt that it’s only $42.00 bucks either. Plus, I always love lace for spring, so I’m looking forward to pairing this with skirts for both work and play.

I’m excited it’s Friday- I mean, isn’t everyone? Thanks to Leap Year, my birthday got pushed from Sunday to Monday, so Monday is my bday which means I am celebrating this weekend. Aaron is actually working/on call all weekend, so I have some plans with my favorite Durham ladies to  try and forget that small fact. I always think birthday’s are a little depressing away from home, but I am so fortunate to have made amazing friends here that want to make sure I’m not forgotten.I remember our first year here, I was so sad on my birthday, but my “new” friends surprised me with cake, drinks, songs and more. I remember being so relieved and it was one of the first times I felt like we could really make a life here. Two year later, I feel like this is home.

Besides that, I’m hoping to accomplish some things on my to-do list, although with birthday shenanigans it might be hard, we’ll see. I am just hoping for some nice spring weather and maybe a glass of wine on the patio. #keepitsimple
