I have always had trouble finding pants that fit me. I have big thighs which I attribute to years of cheerleading and genetics (thanks, mom!) and my waist happens to wear a different size than my legs do. It can be very frustrating and to top it off, I’m 5’2. These are some of my biggest insecurities, so when I do find a place and the clothes actually fit me, I feel like I’ve won the lottery (thank you J.McLaughlin). That’s how I feel about these pants. I am all about a good tailor job and honestly, I tailor about 75% of my clothing, but these required no tailoring which is a double win in my book. It’s like the short / big thigh angels were watching over me when I tried them on. #getitgirl
Whether you’re tall, short, big, small – you should come out to J.McLaughlin this Thursday night in Chapel Hill. Lauren and I will be hosting a little shopping party and 15% of all sales go back to Healing Waters with the Her Initiative and we would love, love, love to see you there. You can come try these amazing pants on and tons of other amazing spring goodies! When I was shopping there the other day, I joked that these pants are from this movie, because they fit Lauren perfectly too (and we obviously have different body types). Now I want to watch that movie!
The event invitation is below, if you’re local, come say hi. I would love to chat! Have a great day loves, thanks for reading (as always)!

Amy, you look fabulous! Love the pants! I hear you on the pants fit (I’m also 5’2″ with a small waist and larger thighs and a former dancer and cheerleader, but Dad’s genes for the super muscles are to thank…you could make a nice Sunday roast dinner out of one of my thighs LOL!) I can remember trying to buy pants as a young lady…there were many a shopping trip that ended in tears with my Mom. Designers have gotten so much better now about realistic body shapes (and I hate when they think all thin people have the same body shape). I will have to check this designer out. Another good one that I can recommend for pants is Theory (although I always have to have the pants tailored for the hem even if not for the waist–but my pocketbook and I will take a hem job over having the waist redone any day of the week). Thank you for sharing!
