It’s still hot in NC, so I’m trying to find ways to incorporate some fall into my wardrobe without getting the “don’t you know it’s 90 degrees stares.” These 4 wardrobe essentials for fall are some necessities for me when it comes to layering and not melting in the still summer outside heat. Come on mother nature, send me some 60-70 degree days already!
Blazers: Not only do they make a look more polished, but it’s so easy to layer them over a tank paired with a skirt. Plus, it’s a piece you can easily take off and on. I love this one and have it in camel, but navy is definitely one of those staple items I need to add. In all honesty, I always say spend money on a great blazer because if it lasts, you’ll be able to wear it for years.
Peep Toe Booties: Yes, I want to wear booties, but no, it doesn’t seem cool enough. Enter these dream boats. Perfect for pairing with those summer dresses and skirts and giving them a little fall flavor. Obsessed with these but not sure if I could pull them off with my short legs. 🙂
Plaid Shirts: This one is a no brainer. Perfect for cut off denim and booties and then for longer pants once those temperatures drop. I may be basic, but plaid and denim just scream fall and it’s my go-to outfit for the pumpkin patch.
Vests: All day, everyday. Just like a blazer, these are great layering pieces and can go over those tanks for now and then long sleeve tees for later. I love long line vests and have a few, but I definitely need this one. I mean, that color! (insert heart eyes)
Never underestimate the power of some great accessories as well. I love added a fall fringe bag, or some suede to looks this time of year. Just because it’s still warm out doesn’t mean you can’t incorporate some fall into your look. I love taking a summer maxi and pairing it with booties or a vest to spice it up. Speaking of spice, have y’all caved and got your basic girl PSL for the season yet?! I’m guilty.
Have a good day friends, and thanks for reaching my little space on the interwebs.
