I always love peeking into people’s Christmas home decor via the interwebs during this time of year. I love knowing how people decorate this time of year, if they decorate, etc. There are so many “types” of Christmas home decor: kid inspired, whimsical, colorful, farmhouse Christmas, etc. While we stick to neutral decor for the most part, I love all of them and one of my favorite things is admiring our Christmas tree. When we watch TV at night, I turn all the lights off in the house minus the tree and while we watch TV, I secretly just watch the tree. 🙂
Ever since we’ve lived in Durham we’ve gotten a live tree, but this year we opted for a King of Christmas flocked tree since I knew the last thing I’d be wanting to do with a newborn come January 1st was clean up pine needles (although I did use them on our dining buffet and mantle). The tree we got is just gorgeous, and even though I miss the pine smell, I just light some candles and it’s just as good as the real thing (and no mess!). Do you have a real tree? I told Aaron, next year we’ll just have this gorgeous one and a real one in different rooms. The more the merrier!
Anyway, here is some of the Christmas home decor (skimmed down from last year’s tour due to baby prep) we have decked our halls with this year!

Since we celebrate Hanukkah and Christmas, we have a few menorahs scattered throughout the house that we keep up through the season. We’ve so enjoyed lighting our MacKenzie-Childs menorah this year and I love it on the center of our buffet with pine decked around it. We were actually just chatting the other night about how we look forward to lighting it years from now with our kids. <3 I love that Baby L will probably arrive during our favorite holidays (he or she might JUST miss Hanukkah). Regardless of what holiday you’re celebrating this year, I hope so far it’s been fabulous. I’m off to watch another cheesy Christmas movie, because, aren’t those the best? We watched Christmas with the Kranks the other night and it was a REAL doozy! haha Aaron wanted to kill me, but he was definitely a good sport.
So cheers to less than one week before Christmas and all of the cheesy Christmas movies we can watch between then and now!
