COCOON COAT OUTFIT DETAILS:
Shirt / Jeans (non maternity here & here) / Boots / Scarf / Coat / Bag / Sunglasses
Towards the end of my pregnancy, this J.Crew cocoon coat was the only one that would fit around my belly. But even when I’m not pregnant, this is one of my favorite outer wear pieces because it’s comfortable, neutral and classic. I know J.Crew coats seems a bit pricey, but if you wait until a great sale, you can nab a great deal. In fact, because J.Crew constantly has sales, I rarely pay full price for anything, although I feel like a great coat is definitely worth a little splurging, especially if you feel like you’ll wear it for years and years. They are having a great sale right now if you’re in the market…
On another note, I just want to say thank you again for being patient with me as I find a new normal with motherhood/Poppy. Your texts, DMs on Instagram, Facebook messages, etc. have all meant the world to me and have picked me up on some of the most dreary days. If there are a few things I’ve learned in my three weeks since becoming a mother it’s that #1. This is the hardest job I’ve EVER had and #2. It truly does take a village because without kind words, calls to just say “I’m here,” notes, etc. I don’t think anyone would get through it. I think I’ve cried ALMOST every day since we brought Pops home, it’s such a HUGE change! I plan to write a post on it all this week and the transition challenges we’ve faced, so I hope I get it done! #illtrymybest In the meantime, thank you, thank you, thank you.
I think I only have 1 other maternity look to share with y’all. It’s kind of sad actually, but I’m also looking forward to getting out and shooting some non-big-belly pics again! ๐ That, and just feeling like a human again as opposed to a slob/milk factory. ๐
Obviously, we didn’t make a Monday post, so here is hoping Wednesday makes it! I need lots of coffee and I hope you get some too!

You are precious.. and refreshing. As a mother of a 19 and 4 year old girl, I can truly say that I still think motherhood is the hardest job and I literally felt like my flesh was dying and everything I was, was fading. I love my girls more than breath, but…. the newborn and baby stage are the hardest for me and i didn’t find it naturally easy or rewarding.
The light is there and you will see it. And trust me…. it is soo much fun when they get older. I love my dates with my 19 year old and i love my life with my little but I still don’t have the body I use to, my time still revolves around her, and that’s just the way it is. One day your little Poppy will feed herself and be a big girl and you will have more freedom but today, everything else waits. Chin up and just know that you are her everything and you are perfect. xoxo, Mindy
