I am so excited to share today’s gender neutral nursery post with y’all because it was recently featured on popular site, Inspired By This. As you know, Penelope’s gender was a surprise, so it was important to me that the nursery would be fitting for either a girl or a boy. We kept the color scheme very basic, and just like the rest of the house, I was drawn to creams and whites. Thanks to Youtube videos and kind souls from the home improvement stores, Aaron and I actually hung the beadboard and chair rail ourselves (you can see us doing so in our pregnancy announcement) and I honestly think it’s the icing on the cake to the room.
This gender neutral nursery is by far my favorite in the house and even before Poppy’s arrival, I would sit in the room each morning and drink my coffee and just take it all in day after day. There are so many details about the room I love from the custom bedding and curtains, to the layered rugs and oversized gold wishbone on the dresser. It was important to me to have the room look and feel like a nursery, but also fill it with pieces that could grow with our baby into toddler-hood. Overall, this labor of love was worth every moment spent getting it ready and I hope one day when we show Penelope her gender neutral nursery she knows how special it was to us!

It’s crazy, Penelope isn’t even three months yet, but I hardly even remember what it felt like to have that big belly! It must be the sleep debt!
