J.Crew is my ride or die store. If I need something, I know in a pinch I can go in and grab it in my size and something will work. I think their clothes are timeless and classic; pieces you can wear for years. But while they try to “save” the brand from poor sales, I’ve also have noticed that their sales have started to be a little less generous than they have in the past. Typically, I feel like they have these mega sales, but now I’ve noticed a lot of items are excluded from promos. I get it, they are trying to bring that “exclusive” feel back to the brand, but I also know that J.Crew clothes aren’t always in the budget for everyone, sales or not. So, the other day when I was perusing Old Navy, I realized there were so many J.Crew style looks for less and I thought it might be fun to do a post on some of the pieces.
Now, I do not believe that Old Navy is as quality as J.Crew personally, but I also don’t think everything in your closet has to be top notch quality, especially if it’s more trendy, etc. Take these shorts for example, I almost spent the money on them, but then found them at Old Navy for way less and they are SO similar. They are also shorts I will probably only wear one season, so I don’t mind that they won’t last until Penelope is in high school. 🙂
I won’t be giving up my J.Crew style anytime soon, but it’s good to know that if I need a great beach tote that will get ruined by the sand, a great pair of sunnies I’ll probably sit on and break, or a swimsuit to cover the baby weight until I get it off (if ever), that I don’t have to spend a ton to do so.
J.Crew Style For Less Details:
Are you a fan of either retailer? I really think Old Navy is stepping up their game and I have bought Penelope a ton of little clothing there that’s adorable and inexpensive (they grow so fast right now!).
Have a great one friends and happy bargain shopping some looks for less!
