If you’re new here, you probably don’t know but Aaron and I let Penelope’s gender be a surprise. We both worked tirelessly for month preparing a perfectly gender neutral nursery (that we even had featured on Inspired by This). And while we’re so proud of it, as we prepare to move (more to come on that later), I have been itching to “girly” up her room. Now, if we weren’t moving soon, I most likely wouldn’t be changing her space, but this seemed like the perfect opportunity to welcome some more girl furniture into her life. Enter Baby Relax and a surprise to me when Aaron actually agreed to my crazy plan. Together, we picked the Baby Relax Sienna 3 in 1 Upholstered Crib because it’s beautiful with its tufted ends and the matching Tia 6-Drawer Dresser with Topper (which is a huge lifesaver and actually keeps our changing pad in place!).
To me, these pieces just seem softer for a baby girl than what we had previously. The quality is amazing and now, when I nurse her, I just stare at this adorable end cap detailing on the crib and it just seems to fit a little girl’s nursery so beautifully. I was so excited when the packages arrived that I made Aaron assemble them so we could put them to use, but I also have BIG, BIG plans for these pieces in P’s new nursery in our new home. I plan on keeping some things neutral (to match the tufted area of the crib), but it’s definitely going to have GIRL written all over it! I should state that the crib also come in gray and while I see this as perfection for P’s room, it would be so wonderful in a gender neutral or boy’s room too, I just haven’t had the chance to decorate according to gender, so I’m pumped! haha

Also, I know some of you are thinking, “what about the old pieces you had?” I still love her old furniture pieces, so we plan on using the dresser in the guest room at the new house (it’s not really nursery suitable anyway!) and saving the crib for baby #2 (if and when we’re ready). So, they definitely won’t be wasted, no worries! Plus, since this bed converts, if we do have another baby we’ll need a crib since this bed will follow P into toddler-hood. WIN WIN.
