This post has been sponsored by Sam’s Club and P&G but all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Um, how is it already mid-November? I’m flabbergasted. Next week is Thanksgiving and then it’s basically Christmas. Are you ready for the holidays?
I started shopping about a week and a half ago, but mentally, I need to get in the “game.” I made a trip to Sam’s Club to stock up on all the essentials the other day because when 60 people are at my house for Penelope’s birthday in a few weeks, the last thing I want to be is sans TP #amiright?
I always try to prep for the holidays early in the month – eye brow waxings, dog groomings, haircut, etc. because the week before the holidays all hell breaks loose. The other night I was lying in bed and my electric toothbrush started just brushing without anyone holding it – I thought it was possessed. So of course, I was without toothbrush the next AM. Sam’s Club and Oral-B came to the rescue. And thanks to their amazing 2-pack of the Oral-B Pro 6000 electric toothbrush, Aaron got one also. These would also make a great couple gift for the health conscience people in your life. They’re on instant savings through November 25 for $30 off. It’s a crazy good deal considering other stores charge almost as much for just ONE brush. He also got a new pack of the new Gillette ProShield razorand blades because #tistheseason. These are exclusive to Sam’s Club and are $5 off through November 25, too. 🙂
Below, I’ve listed some tips for getting ready for the holidays so you can sit back and enjoy!
Tips for Getting Ready for the Holidays:
- Don’t procrastinate! I’m talking to you Miss Procrastinator. Seriously though, if you want to enjoy the holidays, get going now. It’s mid-November, so don’t leave decorating and / or Christmas shopping until the end! Get going now and don’t be afraid to ask people what they need early!
- Get yourself ready and early: As I mentioned above, I made a Sam’s Club run last week to get all those goodies I know I always need during the holidays (toothbrushes, blades for myself and for Aaron and other toiletries). I’ll likely make another trip back in a week or so to stock up on food and drinks for entertaining, but it’s so nice to know I have already got everything else to make sure I’m prepped for myself and overnight guests.
- Utilize Time Saving Strategies: Again, Sam’s Club and similar places are great because you can get food, clothing, toiletries, etc. and it’s a one-stop shop! I also utilize online so much this time of year because shipping is easier than fighting for parking spots!
- Outfit plan: Okay, you’ve used your new Oral-B Pro 6000 electric toothbrushand your husband is cleanly shaven with his new ProShield Razor, but what do you wear? Just like I prep my house and linen closet, I prep my outfits and early. There is nothing like trying to rush to find a holiday outfit. Two parties but different guests for the most part? Recycle an outfit twice or wear what you wore last year! It saves time and frustration of standing in front of the mirror asking yourself “what do I wear” when you have one million other things to do!
- Don’t fret. If your to-do is 12095730571308 miles long, don’t worry. Make a list with one large thing you want to accomplish every few days and get goin’ sister. YOU GOT THIS.
Honestly, it’s as simple as that. It’s all about planning, but it’s also all about sanity. This year I am determined to get everything done with time to spare before the holidays so I can sit back and relax while staring at my Christmas tree and playing with my daughter.
I’d love to know what tips you implement?
