This post has been sponsored by General Mills and The Coca-Cola Company, but all opinions are my own. I’d love to know what traditions you put into place with your family.
Can anyone even believe that it’s almost Christmas? I mean, what? Not only is Penelope’s first birthday looming over my head (whahh), but so are the holidays. I feel like I was literally JUST pregnant with P wishing for her to come and here we are almost a year later, in a new house, in a new state. It’s so crazy how fast a year flies by, isn’t it?
We always had such great traditions for the holidays growing up and now that we have a daughter, I am looking forward to building new traditions in our new home. We always had cinnamon rolls on both Thanksgiving and Christmas morning because it was easy for my mom to make while preparing the big feast we’d have later in the day. Easy or not, I loved knowing that soon after waking up, we’d be feasting on warm and gooey yumminess.
This year, I thought it would be fun to take my family’s tradition and merge it with our own, so out and about at Sam’s Club the other day when I was picking up our family’s essentials, like this Gold Peak® Tea and some Member’s Mark French Bread. I always have these on hand when the holidays roll around to have for any guests. I also grabbed a 4-pack of Pillsbury™ Cinnamon Rolls and thought it would be fun to create our own little cinnamon roll monkey bread.
Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread Recipe:
Here is what you need:
- 4-pack Pillsbury™ Cinnamon Rolls
- 1 stick butter
- Cinnamon
- Sugar
- Bundt or angel food cake pan
- Grease for pan
Directions:
- Grease pan and wipe with apaper towel to ensure all sides have been covered.
- Prepare large plastic bagswith ½ cup cinnamon , ½ cup sugar
- Open all packs of rolls and cut into halves, toss into bag.
- Shake bag until balls are coated and then start stacking in pan. Only stack in pan about ¾ of the way to top, rolls will expand.
- Once balls are stacked in pan, pour melted ½ stick of butter around.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
- Right out of oven, flip pan onto plate and wait to cool.
- Microwave icing (we only used 3 of 4 containers) for 20 seconds and then drizzle on cake and finish with cinnamon and sugar!
- Voila, enjoy! Pull apart cinnamon rolls and your new family tradition!
I typically serve this with eggs, berries, French bread French toast (because seriously, is there ever enough sweetness during the holidays and I love how perfectly sized the Member’s Mark pieces are), pour myself a giant glass of Gold Peak Sweet Tea and indulge. It’s the holidays, why not?
I would absolutely love to hear what traditions you put forth in your home! I need all the ideas since we’re starting fresh!
