DIY Kitchen Bench:
Okay, so this post was supposed to go live Monday, but life happens! haha Remember last week when I shared our step by step DIY kitchen bench? Well, here is how it turned out once painted and “decorated.” I still want to get a pad made, but for now, the pillows are providing a soft space to comfortably sit. I feel like it seems like the bench was ALWAYS there now that’s it’s been there for two months. It just seems like it was the perfect thing for this strange little nook, but the best part is that we now have a breakfast table and don’t have to use our large dinning table for all meals (I am one of the old school people that like having two separate eating places. Maybe because I like entertaining?). Oh, and I forgot, I have another storage space to store my stuff (because a kitchen can always use more of that!).
Anyway, Aaron did such an amazing job building the bench and then I ended up painting it. He calls me the “finisher” because I’m always the one to paint/style projects. 🙂 When we first tried to match the paint at Home Depot, the color match came back all wrong and I was so worried we would have to paint it a contrasting color. Luckily, I took it to one of our local paint stores along with a cabinet door and they worked on it for about an hour until they got a match! I was so excited because now I can also touch up some paint spots in out kitchen! If you’ve never done a color match, I highly recommend it! I always just take a drawer, or piece of trim, etc. with me and typically it works! In this case, it took a little more work, but that’s okay!
And with that, go find a spot in your house that you need a DIY kitchen bench. I’ll send my husband over.
Have a good one friends, thanks always for reading!

This turned out so great, it looks amazing in your space! I honestly had no idea that paint stores could match a color like that, now I’m going to figure out how to get a chip of one of our colors in so I can do some touch-ups!
