When we were growing up, my mom always had a little Valentine’s Day gift for us girls (I have two older sisters). It was never expensive, usually a keepsake of some sort, or maybe even something small we’d been wanting. Regardless of the item, it was always nice to have a little “I Love You” gift from my parents (well, my mom since she did the shopping). HA. It’s something I plan to do for Penelope as well, so just in case you like the idea (or maybe already do it), here are a few Valentine’s Day gift ideas for kids (and all are available on Amazon and under $50 aka, still available for shipping before 2/14).
Valentine’s Day Gift Ideas for Kids:
- Books: As a parent, I never want my child to think she has too many books. I love reading and think it sparks such imagination, so a simple book is always a great gift/idea in my eyes. I remember the original version of this book from my childhood, so I think it would be adorable to gift this one.
- A Piggy Back Gift: I always like piggy backing off a previous gift to make that previous gift seem “new” again. Maybe it’s a new video game for a gaming console, or an accessory to a play kitchen. P got one of these for Christmas, so something along these lines would be perfect.
- Shoes: Maybe not the coolest gift in a kiddo’s eyes, but something like this could be much needed for spring.
- Clothing: Maybe we didn’t always want it, but we wore it nonetheless. Maybe it was an adorable sweater, or a shirt, but it was always thoughtful.
- Something Personalized: Something to keep for years to come, I love the idea of a keepsake item like a coin bank, picture frame, or something similar (a cute little engraved necklace or piece would also be lovely).
- Candy: Ya know, because kids and sugar.
- Dot: Obviously this would not be something great for Penelope’s age, but my 4 year old niece LOVES her mom and dad’s Alexa, so if kids shared a bathroom or even had a place in their bedroom, this could be a fun one!
- Board Games: As an adult, I love a great board game.
- Socks: I guess these fall in the same category as #4, but everyone needs them. Maybe pair these with #6 so your kids get a little excited. 🙂
- Art and Craft Projects: Love this big ole box for family or alone time! This would be great too!
I know that most of these are female inspired, but with a quick search you can find a “male” version too! I just always have P on my brain!
Do you do gifts for your kids? Maybe this year you will if not!
