Menswear Fashion Inspired:
I absolutely love a great menswear fashion inspired look y’all. To me, menswear is super sophisticated and I love how it’s comfortable and easy. It’s totally mom-wear; chic and yet comfortable. Is there anything better? I probably have 25 button ups in my closet and as I’ve gotten older, I’ve purchased one size up so I don’t feel constrained and can actually move (again, comfort because chasing toddlers needs to be flexible!). I dream of wearing a menswear tuxedo inspired look to a wedding or event someday (Carrie Bradshaw anyone?).
So, now that I’ve confessed my menswear love to y’all, I also have to tell you a funny story. I was shooting with my gal pal, Meagan and I went to change and realized I’d forgotten my shirt on the bench in front of our bed. Stepping out of the car frustrated, Meagan encouraged me to wear my utility jacket as a top and take some pictures anyway (love that encouragement btw). I was on my way to do just that, when I realized I had my husband’s dry cleaning in my car. Boo-ya, lightbulb moment. I honestly just went through them and decided on stripes because, stripes are never a bad idea! When I got out of the car, Meagan and I had a chuckle about how dry cleaning (dirty, btw) had saved the day.
I honestly have no shame though, I love this look even if the shirt is a little oversized and it was also comfortable. Lesson of the story: when in doubt (or in crisis), raid your husband’s closet (or dry cleaning). 🙂
