Y’all know I love my dry shampoo. Once upon a time I didn’t use it but when I finally trained my hair (more on that soon), it was a GAME CHANGER. Now, I literally only wash my hair max two times a week and while I definitely have some higher end brands I love, you also don’t have to break the bank to find a great drug store option. Today, I wanted to chat about my favorite drug store options and why I love them.
- Batiste: Some people love Batiste because it comes in different color options (AKA no white hair), but honestly, I just get the regular. In fact, if you have “gray” hair after using dry shampoo, you’re not using it well enough. It’s important to spray and then really work it in and even tease sometimes. Or, sometimes I even use it at night and sleep on it so it works it in. I have a post (that’s super old btw, here on how I use it).
- Pantene: Pantene has gotten so much better over the years in my opinion. Did you see this post I did on their new shampoo? Well, I loved it so much I continue to buy it. Their dry shampoo also smells amazing, but I will say, I think it’s a mix of dry shampoo and more root booster (even though its not advertised as so). It’s definitely thicker than the other options, but sometimes you need some height, so I opt for it in moments like this.
- Dove: Dove is my absolute favorite drugstore option and had been for sometime. It’s typically less than $6, smells amazing and I personally think it works wonders. I ALWAYS have a fresh can under my sink and typically switch between this and my more high end products (I’ll also do a post on my favorites of those).
- Organix Coconut Shampoo: I actually just tried this one recently, and while it works just as well as those above, it smells amazing! I actually love their shampoos too because they smell amazing (but they are sulfate free which means you have to use a lot of shampoo for a great suds, haha).
Verdict from those four in order: Dove, Pantene, Batiste, Organix
Again, I love all options (these are my make the cut ones from the whole Target aisle), but above would be how I think they perform and which I buy most often. I hope that helps!
Now, coffee and a big ole spray of some dry shampoo to get me through the day!
