My Grandin Road Sofa:
You guys, I am SO pumped for today’s reveal because it’s been a LONG time in the making. This room is one of the first you see when you first walk into our entry way (it’s off to the left). If you remember from when we first moved into our house from last July, you’ll remember Aaron and I built the built in wall with an Ikea hack (still need to do a DIY post on that). Although the project completely transformed the room, I still was on the struggle bus with the decor. I disliked our old couch that came with us from North Carolina and I wasn’t loving the chairs we had in there. After recovering some wingbacks I found for a MAJOR steal on Craigslist, I was still stuck. I loved my chairs, but still lacked a sofa I loved, a sofa table and bookshelf decor.
Enter Grandin Road.
You guys, I found the absolute sofa of my DREAMS! When Aaron and I first moved in, I mentioned a navy blue velvet sofa, but figured finding one I loved would be out of the budget for forrreveeer (said in the Sandlot voice). Then lo and behold, Grandin Road came into the picture. We actually have numerous pieces in our home from the retailer including this table on our patio which I love for it’s storage (time to buy patio stuff now to enjoy it!). This couch is actually very comfortable (and my typical napping sofa when a nap magically happens) and I am so glad we went with navy instead of a more neutral color because this room really POPS which I love. The only problem we’ve experienced with it is Georgia sheds on it (to be expected with a Golden mix), but a quick swipe of the vacuum and it’s all good!
We added these Geo Birds to our bookshelves and I love that besides the books, they bring together some consistency throughout the shelving. They are a constant throughout and I love their antiqued gold finish which ties all of the other brass and gold elements together throughout the room (if you’re not mixing metals in your home then do it, seriously).
I struggle with the wall under the gallery wall for sometime and debated on if I should get this table or the one we went with. I thin both would look fabulous in the room, but I do love the table we choose. We already have the Grandin Road lucite table in our playroom, so I didn’t want to have TOO much lucite (is that even a thing?).
Another thing I have to rave about is this faux fiddle tree from Grandin Road. I actually have tried SO many faux fiddle leafs after killing approximately 100 live ones and this one is BY FAR the most realistic one I’ve found. I get asked all the time if it’s real and the answer is nope! I spent WAY more on a PB one that ended up in our playroom because it looks so fake. I just stuck it in an affordable basket and voila, I don’t have to worry about it being drafty by the window.
Originally, I had also picked up this rug and these prints, but unfortunately, they didn’t work in this room. But, as a true home decor enthusiast does, I made Aaron rework some rug layings (thanks babe!) and we moved some stuff around and I have to say, the room we ended up using the other pieces in looks fabulous (more to come next week). You see the navy wallpaper from our entry way in the photo above and I love how the navy blue Grandin Road sofa works with it.
Shooting these photos (finally) made me so happy because it’s a true testament about how far we’ve come in this home. I struggled with this room when we first moved in because A. we had no furniture and B. do people even use sitting rooms anymore? But I can say we do use this room and the dogs especially since they nap on their beds in front of the windows to the street. Long term we may change things up, but for now, I am just loving my new blue Grandin Road sofa and all things Grandin Road.
Let me know if you need any sources, etc. But I’ll say, most of my stuff is either Grandin Road or Home Goods!
Also, right now Grandin Road has 20% off sitewide with an additional 10% off $250 (not hard to spend on their site). Score a deal today while you’re drinking that coffee!

Your living room looks great; your couch is the perfect color!! As a heads up, there is a Grandin Road, Frontgate, and Ballard Designs outlet in West Chester, OH. If you sign up for their mailings, they’ll send an extra 10% coupon when they have their 50% sales. I’ve scored bedding and furniture there.
