Yay, today I’m so excited to show you the inside of P’s playhouse. I was out shooting it the other day and laying on the ground to get angles, etc., the neighbors probably thought I was bonkers. Like I said in the exterior post makeover, this little project has been a labor of love, it was adorable before we moved in, but we decided to change it up and make it a little more our style. I remember when we came to see the house for the first time after purchasing it from NC sit unseen and the then owner had written “Welcome Home Poppy” on the chalkboard. So stinking sweet.
I knew I wanted the house to be a place both little boys and girls could play because we have a lot of neighborhood kids around, and while it ended up more girly than boyish (I do have a daughter afterall), I think it’s a good compromise. We used Stikwood to cover the walls in their Reclaimed Weathered White. This product is seriously so awesome, I can’t say enough good things. Anytime someone comes into the house they can’t believe that A. it’s not real shiplap and B. it’s a peel and stick. It is real wood, but the pieces are cut so thin that the backing can be sticky to “keep it up.” Because the playhouse is not climate controlled (although it does have cable and electric, LOL) and Stikwood isn’t recommended for non-climate controlled areas, we did nail some of our boards, but not all. The paneling COMPLETELY transformed the space without any furniture, and now we want to use it in an interior room in our home after seeing the results.
BEFORE (adorable, just not really “us”):
After:
The previous owners were kind enough to leave the little shelf piece of furniture and the kids table + two white chairs. Other than that, I shopped from items we already had (little mirrors, rug, some pillows, blankets, light fixture, etc.) and then picked up items from Target and Ikea. I’ve done my best to link everything below, but if you need anything specific, let me know and I’ll try to hunt it down!
Overall, I love this little space, but I still need to do a few things like make curtains and fill frames with pictures, haha. Until then, we love spending warm afternoons in here while momma drinks her coffee!
Light / Rug / Horns / White Shelves / Dinosaur (actually a salt shaker) / Cupcake Sign (similar, bought local) / X Back Kids Chairs / Pillows (most Homegoods) / Chalkboard, Stools, Fake Floral, Trash Can all Ikea / Blanket Ladder / Hello sign / Fiddle Fig / Small Table / Apple

house is adorable!! as a first time parent pleas know to make sure that you have the white cabinet drilled securely into the wall. you wouldn’t want her or friends to have it topple over on her.
