How to Throw the Ultimate (and Easy) 4th of July Party

Fourth of July is one of my favorite holidays. I love fireworks, the silly outfits, and just thinking about kiddos splashing through the pool or sprinklers while adults chat and grill. It’s the epitome of summer and one of the few summer holidays that we actually celebrate, so why not make it fabulous? This year, we’ll be having some friends from our neighborhood over for a 4th of July party. I want it to be fun, carefree, and easy.  But still picturesque of everything it should be.

Today, I’ve teamed up with the Chinet® brand to share my top tips for throwing the ultimate 4th of July party! I think a lot of the time, people get so caught up in everything being so time consuming that they shy away from hosting an event. But the truth is, hosting can be easy and fun!  Especially when it comes to a 4th of July party!  So here’s what you need to do…

How to Easily Host a 4th of July Party

  1. First and foremost, use Chinet brand products! Y’all know I love them from my spring post here and my Baby Shower post here. The Chinet® Cut Crystal® cutlery is beautiful but for an event like Fourth of July that’s a little less formal, I always reach for the Chinet® Classic White™ product line. I love the diversity of the products, from the Chinet Classic White platters, to the appetizer and dinner plates. I like to let the food do the talking, and I love that they’re strong enough for second helpings. I also love the Chinet Classic White napkins because they are BIG.  Which means they can take care of all those sticky hands (both adults and children). But, the best part is the cleanup since they are disposable! Boo ya!
  2. Games: I love having a simple mix of games for adults and kids. We typically have one of these mesh sticky ball throw things (like that name?), cornhole, a few decks of cards, etc. Some people are just game people and love having them out and about. I simply place them somewhere visible outside and if people play, great! If not, that’s okay too!
  3. Décor: This does not have to be as intricate as people think. I literally grab stuff from the Target dollar section or holiday area. A few fun banners, maybe a small flower arrangement, and voila! I picked up a few American flags for a $1 each and plan to use those in the flower beds, etc. You can also stick a few in a vase!
  4. Yummy Food/Desserts: A no-brainer when hosting! I love this trifle, these wrapped hotdogs, or even a big ole’ bowl of watermelon. Of course, hotdogs and hamburgers are a must and super easy too! Don’t complicate it. Keep it simple and delicious, and no one will be disappointed! Again, I plate all of this on the Chinet Classic White platters so it’s an easy cleanup – just toss when done! The food looks nice and crisp against the white.
  5. Drinks: Also a necessity! I like having a mix of alcoholic beverages (beer and wine served in Chinet® Cut Crystal® cups and wineglasses) and then non-alcoholic and kid friendly. Lemonade with lemon slices looks gorgeous in a clear pitcher and served in the Chinet Cut Crystal cups. For kiddos, I typically get a lower sugar juice box and some mini water bottles.
  6. Kids Activities: Unless you’re having an adults-only party, I like having activities for the kiddos too! They can definitely partake in the yard games, but it’s fun to have bubbles and sparklers for dusk and maybe a slip n’ slide. In our backyard, we have a swing set and Poppy’s playhouse, so that helps, but I also think like a sack race or something would also be fun!
  7. Don’t be opposed to BYO…something? Just because you’re hosting, all of the burden doesn’t need to fall on you. Ask people to bring sides (on Chinet Classic White dinner plates obviously), their own beverages, etc. I typically have some drinks in case people forget and do the larger food items like meats, a few desserts, etc. But it’s totally okay for a more casual gathering to ask people to help! After all, you’re the one setting up for people to enjoy! Just remember to use your Chinet brand product lines so you can toss everything after and not have to fret during your party about all the cleanup you have to do!
