A few weeks ago, we celebrated my girlfriend’s bachelorette party and I knew I wanted the weekend to be memorable and fun. Next week I plan on doing a full post on the overall theme, etc., but first I wanted to share this boozy vodka gummy bears recipe I made to take to the party. Some of you may be familiar with making boozy gummy bears simply by soaking regular gummy bears in vodka for 24+, but I wanted the gummy bears to be “on theme,” so I bought my own molds (you can find many here). It’s honestly so easy and they are delicious.
Vodka Gummy Bears Recipe
What you Need:
- Gelatin Packs (1-2 per batch, read more for explanation)
- Flavored Gelatin Choice
- Vodka or choice of alcohol
- Sugar
- Dropper or Turkey Baster (what I used)
The first thing you have to decide is if you’ll be using flavored gelatin or your own fruit juices mixed with the unflavored gelatin. I made both.
Directions for using your own fruit juices:
- If using your own fruit juices (i.e. pineapple, orange, etc.) start with 2 ounces of juice over medium heat
- Add 3 packets unflavored gelatin
- After, add one cup sugar and stir until mixed
- Next, add 2 ounces liquor of choice
- After adding the alcohol, add food coloring of choice until coated and allow to come to slight boil while mixing until contents of gelatin are almost dissolved. Be careful not to boil too long as you may boil out some of the alcohol!
- Syringe your gelatin into molds
- Place into refrigerator for 15 minutes and then pop out of mold to enjoy!
- Store in fridge until serving
Directions for using flavored gelatin:
- Add on packet of flavored gelatin into pan.
- Next, add 2 packets unflavored gelatin and stir until almost dissolved
- After, add one cup sugar and stir until mixed
- Next, add 2 ounces liquor of choice
- After adding the alcohol, allow to come to slight boil while mixing until contents of gelatin are almost dissolved. Be careful not to boil too long as you may boil out some of the alcohol!
- Syringe your gelatin into molds
- Place into refrigerator for 15 minutes and then pop out of mold to enjoy!
- Store in fridge until serving
The only thing I can recommend is purchasing a few different molds if they are small so you don’t have to make a ton of batches. However, since they only take about 15 minutes to set, you should be able to make quite a few! I just did other tasks in between waiting for mine to set!
They were delicious and such a fun little treat to enjoy during festivities! You could get so many different fun molds depending on your events theme, too!
And now, for coffee!
