Hi-ya friends. I’ve been MIA. If you follow me on instagram I chatted a little about our new house and some big life changes that we’re going for, and you can see, I’ve taken on a big stairway project in the midst of moving, dealing some personal life challenges and parenting a toddler. It’s hard to make lemonade from these lemons right now, but I’m trying. Plus, did I mention it’s winter and it’s the pits? Luckily, I picked up the The Country Guesthouse the other day and I’ve made it a point to take a breath and 10-15 minutes a few times a day to open a book and take some “me” time (let’s be honest, mostly during nap time). We don’t have any “finished” areas of the house yet, so the stairs, or the empty living room with the only couch have been working just fine.
Must Read Book for 2020
This must read book for 2020 is written by Robyn Carr and follows Hannah Russell who finds herself in uncharted territory when she suddenly becomes guardian to her late best friend’s son. As they find themselves learning the ropes of one another, Owen Abrams the owner of the house they are staying in comes into the picture and finds himself drawn to his new guests. Such a sweet romance and a book about overcoming grief, new responsibilities and growth (things we all need some help with sometimes) it’s been extremely interesting and fun so far (I am ALMOST done!).
I don’t know about you, but sometimes a good book can get me out of a funk and make me just feel better. Maybe because I get to escape the stress of life for awhile, but this is a great for now (while you’re dreaming of warmer weather) or for this upcoming summer’s beach read.
Hopefully I can share the finalized stair project stairs (without tape and paint tray), but until then, I’ll be reading The Country Guest House. Let me know if you have any suggestions for my next book. For 2020, I really want to focus on bringing back some joyful things I used to do (that I stopped making time for) and one of those is getting lost in a great book. Join me!
Now, to brew a cup of decaf coffee (it is late) and snuggle up for this evening. I’m taking a break for paint…
Thanks
