This Pantene Fortifying Damage Repair Collection post is in partnership with Pantene.
Have I ever told you guys that I’m the youngest of three girls? I have two older sisters, one about to turn 41 and one about to be 38. It’s been such a crazy last few weeks, and with the passing holiday, I definitely missed seeing them and getting our annual “sister” Easter picture.
Growing up with two older sisters, there was always a lot of fighting over clothing, the phone, etc. and while there is quite an age gap between myself (33) and them, I’ve still always been that stereotypical little sister that wanted to be just like her big sisters. We’re all so different, but I’d like to think I’m a combination of the best parts of both of them. 🙂
Heather, my oldest sister, has always been the natural beauty of the family. She’s the only one of the three of us that didn’t have braces, has this gorgeous curly hair that requires practically no work fixing (and still looks great) and her makeup routine has always been minimal and natural. Her smile is infectious, I mean that. You can’t help but love her when you meet her. Wendy, on the other hand, was always a little more adventurous and wild. Makeup, relationships, etc., she was more like an onion than a sweet peach; layered, complex and yet, beautiful and kind. I remember going through her makeup as a pre-teen and being in awe of all of her eye shadow colors and lip colors. I’m pretty sure that in 7th grade when I wore blue eyeshadow for school pictures (why did you let me do that, mom?), I was definitely trying to copy something I’d seen her wear. I was always sneaking into Wendy’s closet wearing clothing I knew I wasn’t allowed to borrow and I’m sure my desire to be like my two older sisters caused a lot of stress for my parents as the three of us were in a constant state of bickering.
Back then, I didn’t know who I wanted to be, so the easiest answer was to be my sisters. In fact, at 33 years old, I know my sisters are the reason and inspiration behind my personal beauty routine today. Part of me always loved Heather’s natural beauty while the other part of me loved Wendy’s confidence in bring more adventurous with enhancing eyes, cheekbones (she has great cheekbones, too), etc.
Self Care with Pantene Castor Oil
My sisters and I are very different from each other, but I’ve definitely found my personal beauty routine (and style) is a combination of both of them. From Heather, have pulled my subdued color pallet and less colored hair inspiration. I used to be bleach blonde, but now find this color not only suits me better but is way less work to keep up. And I absolutely have been loving the new line from Pantene, the Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection Fortifying Damage Repair with Castor Oil. The sulfate free shampoo and conditioner are a combination of castor oil and nutrients that helps restore dry/damaged hair to make it smooth and shiny (exactly what I want). You can also try the Overnight Repair Serum from this line, a quickly-absorbing serum that repairs overworked hair as you sleep to restore health and shine.
And while my neutral makeup and darker hair is a reflection of Heather, I still find so much inspiration from my middle sister. Wendy doesn’t wear blue eyeshadow anymore (neither do I thank goodness), but she’s still more adventurous than my cautious, yet beautiful older sister. Just like Wendy, I probably have about 30 neutral eye shadows, on an occasion I’m still known to sport a winged liner or new hairstyle and I love experimenting with different skincare products and shampoos (which is why I picked up the Castor Oil Collection to begin with). While Heather has her tried and true, Wendy and I continue to experiment, purchase and evaluate products we’ve tried. You can find the collection here!
Here is a throwback pic probably circa 2006-ish (we can’t remember)? Heather top left, Wendy, then me on bottom with a sweet choker.
Whether it’s motherhood or beauty, my sisters continue to inspire me daily and teach me about #selfcare and #selflove. I’d like to think that sometimes I even inspire them.
With that said, I’ve teamed up with Pantene to challenge you to take one hour to lock the door and turn off the outside noise in order to make time for self-care, exploration and reflection. Turn on some music, grab your favorite Pantene Nutrient Blends Collection and take time for you, but while you do it, think about who/what has inspired your unique beauty routine. I’d love to know in the comments, on instagram, etc. I’ll even be hosting a giveaway on IG stories, so head over!
I’m proud to say my sisters inspire me and I hope one day Penelope says that her mom inspired her, too.
And now my friends, coffee and daily reflection.

I would have to say my grandmother definitely inspired my beauty routine. She was the classiest most put together woman I know. No matter where she went she always looked nice. I can’t always say the same about myself but I try 😝
Can’t wait to try this Pantene line!!
