Party February 8th…showing you on May 19th. Gesh, anyone else behind on life since COVID?
There is actually a funny story to this post, well, seems funny now, but definitely wasn’t funny then…actually, it still isn’t funny. But, I deleted EVERY.SINGLE.PHOTO. from her party off my memory card before I put them on my computer. I almost cried. I had got so many cute photos of her and friends playing, the gorgeous food spread my sister and mom helped me put together and every other detail I wanted to remember. UGH. Luckily, with some frantic text messages sent to friends and family, I was able to round up enough to put together a post of all my two-tti Frutti 2nd Birthday party ideas. It’s not my best work in terms of photography, but I’m just SO thankful for iPhone pics. And a few other areas, I reshot quickly because I wont lie, I hadn’t quite put everything away yet! HA.
Anyway, we decided to go with a “Two-tti” Fruitti Bday celebration because I already had some luau stuff on hand and I just thought it was super cute to have a bright and fun birthday party dead in the middle of winter. This was the first “party” we threw at the new house, so to say it wasn’t exactly put together for company is an understatement, but I think the bright balloons, good food and decor helped distract people. 🙂
Two-tti Fruitti 2nd Birthday Party Ideas
Upon entering the house, guests were greeted by fruit balloon bunches, and a Lei station to “Twotti” Fruitti Yourself! We also had a sign welcoming guests to Penelope’s Twotti Fruitti Bday! I bought this sign, the invitations, food tents and gift bag tags off etsy as a set.
To the left of the entry, we had the gift bags for kiddos set up. I love filling little gift “happys” for kiddos as it was my favorite part of birthday parties as a kid. I put a bubble wand, mini slime, kosh ball mini, a rock candy and a glow bracelet in each box. P still plays with the extra bubble wants we had.
Once guest entered the living room/dinning/kitchen area we had the dessert table set up with balloon arch (Aaron made!) and then drinks. I am SO sad that I didn’t get pics of the food. We had balloons in there and fun straws, etc. My sister and mom made gorgeous fruit platters to go along with the theme.
We served:
- BBQ catered from City BBQ (BBQ, Buns, Mac n’ Cheese, Cole Slaw and Baked Beans)
- Fruit and Veggie Trays
- Beer, Wine, Soda (juice boxes for kids) and water
- Cake
- Rock Candy
- Rice Krispie Treats
- Macaroons
- Cookies (I made them)
Lastly, downstairs we had a “Twotti” necklace making station. I bought foam fruit stickers and left the backing on (which we hole punched) and then necklace cords. Kiddos then were able to string Fruit Loops on them and make some fun fruit jewelry! I always like having a kids activity at P’s age to entertain the kids, eventually we’ll play games, etc. but for now, she’s too young.
Other little decorations I like putting around during a party are some photos from her past year (under the “2” balloon) and an invitation in a frame (which I put out by the food).
And that’s it, Twotti Fruitti. Is it sad I already have her third birthday idea ready to go? I mean, it’s already May! In just a few months I’ll be planning for her to turn 3. Time really does fly.
Now I’m going to go cry in a corner with my coffee.
Thanks as always for reading sweet friends.
